I remember my childhood in this white Paris, the pittoresque of the streets, shops, witty Parisians... the contrast between the animated popular districts with their "parigots" (vanished natives of Paris with their accent à la Maurice Chevalier) and the grandeur of the central or western "arrondissements", with their monuments, squares and façades, and the so fine ladies, the "Parisiennes", the epitome of elegance and femininity nowadays almost entirely wiped out too.

I just visited Paris for 6 days and I can see that it was not as inundated with tourists as it is today. And it feels like its architecture is slowly dying, there are more boring modern buildings today. And comparing the Paris of the 60s with the current one, it seems that it has lost a part of its original beautiful landscape.

Look at 3:33. Fine city, mid sixties, nice chic people, a handsome young man wearing a suit... but what a horror does he do? Where are his proper manners? He approaches the car and gets in as if he were all alone. Shouldn't he, instead, accompany his girlfriend around (especially as she has to step into the street, exposing herself to traffic), looking to protect her, open the passenger door, let her in, close her door and only then go to get in himself? Is this the city of any culture, after all? I think it certainly is.
