I'd *almost* argue another set of slides inside the first set would be useful. You pull the second car in slightly more and push it behind the other wall. Now either car can be slid to the more central position and pulled out.

Very cool. Although, having worked for many emergency services (very close quarters for apparatus), the same can be achieved if the first vehicle parallel parked facing out. _Trust me_, there's more than enough room and I know it almost looks impossible. Long story short, vehicle 1 can ingress and egress without ever having to move Vehicle 2 (you'll also save your back from all that pushing and pulling and the cost of that extra equipment you installed in the garage).

In the UK, our single car garages can accommodate one car, the problem is, when you park the car in the garage you can't get out of the car, because you can't open the door fully, unless you have the body of a skeleton, unlike me who's belly is on the large side.

Garages in the UK are built as if we still drive the small cars of the past. Just one or two extra rows of bricks would allow us to at least open the car door. Architects/Planners, get with the times!

The noise it makes driving over it is enough to wake neighbours 3 streets away - handy at Midnight or for an early start at 6am

RondaR. Thanks for comments, the garage doors could not be altered ,planners would not allow,therefore to solve the problem, Park and Slide came up with invention.

Great idea; up until some idiot in a rush decides to back that Jaguar out without sliding it across first. Not so sure using the door to pull it back, having to leave the window open aside, also such a good idea...? Any way an electric motor could be utilised for this sliding purpose?

I can just see a 95 pound, elderly woman pushing or pulling these vehicles to make room in the garage for her 80 year old husband's car. I think I would opt for a larger garage if for nothing else but for storage and resale value.

This is what I’m looking for with a tripe garage in Florida. The problem is that the single overhead door is too narrow for a full sized car, and two cars are spaced too tightly in the two car stall. The reason that the overhead doors is narrower are probably to make the house strong for hurricanes in Florida. It would be prohibitively expensive to re-engineer the house to have wider overhead doors. It’s not a simple matter to have wider overhead doors. You’d need a different house that was engineered differently. Almost all homes in Florida have narrower overhead doors than homes up north in the snow belt areas that are never at risk for the hurricanes. What is that car moving devices called? How much did it cost? I would like to have an electrically powered version of that car mover. That looks like the perfect solution for fitting two cars in a two car garage, where it is simply not feasible to increase the width of the overhead door.

Meh, I have that kind of garage. Just reverse the first car in and park it where the slider puts the Jag (or was it Aston?). Oh wait, the other way around since you drive on the other side of the road. Just reverse in so the drivers door is facing the garage mid section.

Pulling the weight of the car by it's door can't be good... Bad idea unless it had electric motor/button that moved the car over. Also looks like you could only use it for that one car because not all cars have the same wheel base length.

In many parts of the UK (and even in parts of Canada and the US) that's not possible (unless you move to a new house) heritage/historic building laws, and lot setback requirements, do not allow increasing the foot print of the home or garage.

How about having one that would cover both sides of the garage and slide both cars at the same time. There could be no storage on either side, but you wouldnt have to wait on the first car to be moved out of the way. Each car could just be slid over enough for the other car to back out.

Don't keep your car in a garage or it will corrode quicker. You need air to flow around it. Car port or just on drive will do just fine.
