Park Flyer P-20

This video shows a free flight rubber powered model built to P-20 rules. This is a trim flight that terminates early via activation of the on-board de-thermalizer that uses a viscous timer to trigger the upward tilting of the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer. This causes the model to descend rapidly but safely. It is being used on this particular model to ensure that it lands inside the small park where it is being flown. This type of de-thermalizer is old and well known.
The video was taken with a cell phone. It is hard for me to launch a model, grab my cell phone, activate the video camera function, and then keep the model in the field of view.
