PARKER 51 VACUMATIC 1943 Fountain Pen Restoration - How to repair fountain pen

I have thie exact same Parker 51 with the 1943 2-dot date code. My dad bought it in Casablanca, Morocco during WW II. I inherited the pen after he passed away in 1999. I've had the Vacumatic filling system replaced recently and I love writing with it.

Thank you Denis, I learned a lot from your restoration lesson, I have a Parker 51 from 1942, I don't know if one day I will be able to repair the Vacumatic filler (I would really need that tool to unscrew it without damaging it), but thanks to you I am already able to carefully clean the feeder / nib ! The pens were designed to last a few years then discarded, hence the most parts made of cheap plastic. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

по фидероу и каналу на Parker 51 паркер - сохраненки Меня как-то смущает, что на этом видео на 7 мин 30 сек коллектор велят надевать наоборот: широким каналом сверху, а узкой прорезью снизу... * Все правильно на видео. Надо совмещать широкий канал коллектора с каналом фидера. * В ранних паркеровских мануалах сказано четко (да и при разборе старых ручке видно), что надо совмещать канал фидера с широким каналом коллектора, правда в более поздних статьях было сказано, что положение вообще не важно. Но реально, по опыту и от коллег, я могу сказать точно, что при таком совмещении подача чернил лучше. * Кстати насчет логики чето забыл ответить... Чернила, попадая в коллектор, скапливаются в широком желобе и, как следствие, гарантируют стабильную и обильную подачу. * Так желоб не сквозной же вроде... поэтому я и говорю о непонятной для меня логике... + * Я правильно понимаю, что резиновое кольцо-уплотнитель было не во всех поколениях? у меня просто оно есть, я поэтому и думал что силикона хватит * Резиновое кольцо было введено в 1950 году. Вообще, я как-то хотел потестировать ручку и просто закрутил с кольцом, но без дополнительной изоляции и все было ок. Но, все равно, я бы советовал резиновый клей, потому что можно в ненужный момент случайно скрутить шелл и испачкаться... * Случайно шеллак не открутить. Ну, если только сдуру... Да и то, скорей, развалится резьба... * Я не один Парке 51 проклеивал резиновым клеем, многие зарубежные коллеги также рекомендуют "shell (hood)" запечатывать именно резиновым клеем, а не шеллаком. Он не производит никакого воздействия на "Lucite" - материал, из которого изготовлен корпус 51-го. Но ручку, запечатанную шеллаком, в будущем труднее разобрать и больше вероятность повредить корпус (имею печальный опыт).

@HappyPensVideos no I have not it has lots of corrosion. It has been a battle for every piece. I think someone got this as a gift used it one time in 1947 and put it away. The plunger was completely froze up. It would not go up or down. I broke that loose but the whole unit is stuck in the barrel. I can not turn it out. I even put a vice grip on it. I have it soaking in vegetable oil atm. I have used soap and water and vinegar. Both heated up. Soaked for 24 hrs in each. If oil does not work I think I will just give up my only other option is drill it out. The plunger I am replacing anyway. I have a new titanium plunger on its way. I just do not want to wreck the barrel.

In the video you can see, I have pushed them out from inside with rounded end bar. It's not the best method, but I have no tools for this job. You can find tools here penpractice.com for parker 51 caps , tools cost 150£ , a bit expencive for me.

@@ramgeeda9575 I found anchor bolt and with a file made a shape of clutch. Easiest way to make it, if you have clutch ring already in your hand, so you can mark the bolt and make correct shape.
