i managed to get a 98 classic and i love it. how on earth did this wonderful guitar not take the world by storm. it makes the rest, ( and i have quite a number of top end guitars), seem antiquated.

John James McCartney you know the old saying...only Time will tell... The Parker's versatile tone is a modern day triumph, now I would never sell my 'classic' - it really grows on you- stays in tune for ever- light as feather- 24 frets~! You play music you may never have been inspired to play on another guitar. ...man- what's not to luv~! ...these guitar's really do make Folks better players if they stick with it- Joni Mitchell plays a Parker Fly

...my Dad's mini-van was towed away and he couldn't get it for 30 days in the peak of Summer- temps over 100 degrees- windows closed- and the guitar survived with no damage- as did his Martin HD-28~!

I just got a refined Fly Mojo in Solar Flare(the most beautiful finish you'll ever see on a Parker) and its the most incredibly versatile guitar Ive owned thus far. Ive owned over 30+ high end guitars ranging up to the $10k mark and that Fly out performs mostly everything. I can't believe that they didn't catch on and they closed shop last year. Ill never sell mine

Check out the Parker Maxx Fly if your a super strat kinda guy and they also make a single cut if your a les paul dude. Honestly they look better in person, traditionalists will always be hating!

Ken Parker quit the company in 1999 when they sold it to Washburn and everything got sent to Indonesia. Ken is talking about pre 2000 guitars...before they were shipped off to Indonesia. If you want a real Parker get something from 97,98 or 99 or it's not a REAL Parker.

+Steve G They started making the cheap range in Indonesia, but all the "proper" ones were still made in the US. In the early 2000s they were "refined", which lost a few of their finest qualities, retained the large majority that I love them for, and did actually improve a few things. I have a few Flies ranging over about 15 years and the newest one is still great (a Mojo). I wish they'd kept the external tension wheel though. :-/

+Steve G I'm lucky..I had gotten mine in 2000, and it is a 98 I believe. However, all the internal workings have been removed and les paul internal put in, keeping the acoustic p.u., and replacing the jack system. Only a rhythm player, and love it because it stays in tune for ever, and is easy on my shoulder and back because it is so light. I was working on cruise ships and the travel between ships and Denver at the time was a problem for my Bonnie Raitt Strat. I wont use any other guitar...dont need to ---I love it

I have 2 Parker Maxx Fly PDF-60 guitars. One has a Floyd Rose which came installed from the Factory. I installed the Dimarzio Transition Bridge Pickup in each .........Both guitars are excellent!!!!
