I’m not even halfway done with the video, but it seems like the nurse that helped prep Parker was a great fit for him! I love the way she helped explain everything and play pretend with him to help settle his nerves was absolutely perfect. I hope that made you, the parents, feel more at ease too. When i had my back operated on when i was thirteen, my doctors and parents told me exactly what they were going to do and the day of the surgery i wasn't scared at all! kudos to you guys!

yeah I think it makes kids more prepared and so they are less scared. Although Parker also WANTED to see all that stuff and I can understand that if its a kid that doesnt like needles that you can walk them through it and be honest about whats happening but also it can scare them more if they know TOO much beforehand.

Parker was so brave, but I'm struck by how much strength and calm Jessica emanated throughout the whole experience. Mom and Dad were both super brave for their baby's well-being! Okay so this made me weirdly emotional. Watching the love and care you both had for Parker was so incredibly sweet. He is such a bright and loving and curious kid. It reminded me of my own surgery at the start of the year and as a 24 year old then, I was so scared and to see Parker so brave made me so proud! I was lucky that my foster dad is a doctor and so was by my side the whole time but seeing two biological parents love their child in such a natural and unconditional way got to me. Thank you all for this. I’m here because I’m preparing my 7 year old for surgery & im a single mom so I’m already a ball of nerves. it’s going to be a challenge I’m sure but I pray it all goes by as well as his did.❤️
