I saw a parker Nitefly M on eBay for $800 years ago. The pics were bad, so it didn’t sell. I messaged them an offer of $500 and they accepted. When I got the guitar, it was dirty and badly in need of a set up. I sent it off to my trusted tech and what I got back was nothing short of astonishing! Over the years I changed the piezo saddles and the pickguard. I have been playing for almost 40 years and have owned many high-end guitars beginning with a 1974 Les Paul Custom, PRS CE’s, Charveles, Godins, Jacksons, ect. And my 1998 Parker Nitefly M is by far my all time favorite guitar. It is really a special instrument.

The mystery plastic object found in the case is designed to hook onto the headstock so the guitar can be hung up on a wall with a normal guitar hanger (otherwise there's no "lip" to hang it off). Parker folks actually commonly refer to it as a "bullwinkle" too.

I've grown to love these guitars. They play great and weigh next to nothing. They might look a little crazy but they are very comfortable to play. Nice work Dave.

That thing really does have dramatic, soulful, inspiring clean tones. This, I never knew about Parkers. I'm floored. I liked your guitar playing too, Dave. You did justice in presenting that guitar. Truly well done.

The plastic piece lets it fit in a neck cradle stand . The controls are vol, tone, piezo vol, mag pickup selector and piezo mode selector with a coil tap push pull.

+1 on the steam trick being awesome. I'll bet that customer was pleased! Nice job Dave. Thanks for testing the piezo as well. I had no idea they could sound like that. Would it be worth it to get one on bass I wonder?

I think if you take that "Antlers" piece and turn it upside down and hook it onto the 4 lower tuners, it's to hook the parker on a wall hook seeing as that headstock doesn't really allow for it. At least that's my best guess.
@onpsxmember7 жыл бұрын
Did you smoke lot in the last 7 years? Holy shit. I just watched this and didn't recognize you without the intro. What kind of parker was that? The finish looks so rough, the springs are maybe stock on low budget models. And there is no contour carving on the top. buttcheeks split (HB), single coils tap dance. That way you won't confuse split/tap
@D4NW3B326 жыл бұрын
Travis Matte yeah, I agree. Since he couldn't make it fit on the front of the headstock, it might fit on the back of the headstock with the antlers facing the neck to make contact with the prongs of a mount/stand. Another possibility is that it's a stencil to measure the distance between the tuner holes, and the antlers might measure the spacing of the 3 knobs on the body.

That plastic piece is a cradle so that you can use a vertical/wall hanger. The way the headstock is designed would cause the guitar to just fall through. That cradle provides the support needed to use a vertical hanger.

the bullwinkle that you have in the video attaches to the headstock and is used for hanging the guitar on a regular wall hanger

The antlers are so you can hang your Parker on the wall using a regular u shaped hanger. The antlers point down and the other slots fit into the tuners

Dude....I'm late to the plate...Nov-6-2013. That plastic "Thing" is called a "Bullwinkle" and if you love Fly's...DO NOT THROW IT OUT! It's the only way to hang your Parker guitar on the wall. Alan Litchfield...they work....and someone on here (with a bandsaw) was selling them for $50.00 a pop! I make mine at work!

Hi there, The plastic thingy is for hanging the guitar on wall hooks! Which is not possible without it because of the funny skinny head on Parker guitars. You're welcome. Ivan

I figured out that little Bulllwinkle thingy is actually a chinese template !!! Smallers like you showed for tuner holes and the 3 bigger ones are for doing the 3 pots holes ( notice that the holes are in angle ) !!! Chinese engineering at the best !!! AHA LOL

"Hung by the neck"...is the intended...and the only proper way to store a stringed instrument. New Parker's have that "Rook" appendage thing going on at the neck now to hang them. But other models don't. Needless to say...Don't throw that bugger out!
