@@martinpecheur8506 Your right, the drama is largely scripted, though there are surely authentic interactions between the crew members during filming and I believe this is likely one of them. They really are mining for gold and aside from the money each member is paid per episode, they really are trying to make money from this venture. It is a lot of work and I am sure mistakes can irritate each other. Judging by Juan's response, I think this one was real.

Parker's giving them a shot with his resources and for this kind of opportunity sometimes your required to do more, it just depends on what you want I've seen fisherman put up with worse for a lot less it's not Parker that needs to grow up it's those that think because they know something or have skills there boss shouldn't ask any sacrifice out of them or think they should tell the boss of anything new their doing if they are getting payed that much they have to decide if their pride can handle it or if in the end it will all be worth it.

Yep. Having a self mobile wash plant and an auto-conveyor feeder would be incredibly efficient. No dump trucks running pay. Walk the wash plant to the cut, walk the conveyor down into the cut and bam, you are running the wash plant and digging the cut out simultaneously with one excavator. You also need a tailings conveyor that automatically moves back and forth horizontally to disperse the tailings without need of a loader. Of course you still have to have a dozer ahead of you clearing ground. Seems like this would be the ideal set up for any small scale placer mine.

@@VagueMemory having it mobile would be great for moving it when setting up, but once its setup moving it's a bad idea unless you first clean out the sluice boxes as any vibration in those will cost you gold. You'd also need to constantly be moving your tailings water channel, your fresh water input and your large tailings pile, it becomes alot of work keeping that water access available, and should it go wrong you risk flooding the cut. Better to have a single central location were you can control everything, and just have trucks moving back and forward.

Most of the time, topsoil is left on top of the old operation to allow grass and plants to grow, other mining companies contract planting operations to plant trees over the old operation.

A good boss leads by example and not bark orders, I have been in both foreman and boss positions and I'm always the 1st on and last off site, extra hours needed by others should always be rewarded and always show gratitude. If your staff feel appreciated and when your in a tight spot they will go the extra mile for you. Sometimes you may not make the $ you wanted then but keeping a good, organised crew will make more $ in the long term.

How so? As far as I know, they legally have to do land reclamation. I don't know if it involves anything more than using some equipment to spread all of the material back out but it still requires time, fuel and equipment usage, which is not free. They would have to also load the overburden onto trucks and haul it where it is needed to cover the entire mined area. I have seen land that was was previously mined years before and it is was flourishing well. As long as the overburden is spread out on top of the tailings, there is soil for vegetation to return. So what do you believe the issue is here.
