Had a Parker Jotter fountain pen in stainless steel since at least 1995. Still have it today and it was the only one with a metal barrel, other jotters having plastic ones back in the day. Just picked up a new jotter in red and pleasantly surprised to see it come with a metal barrel! Just like my older model, it is a thin pen, but perfectly pocketable one as a daily driver and cheap enough for me not to worry about if I let others use it.

Parker Jotter has been around since 1954, 64 years. Great little pens. I've had them in ballpoint, I haven't had one in a fountain pen yet. Have a great weekend Stef.

Is the Parker 15 with a fine nib, always a dry writer? I have one from 1987, and it has always written dry. Cleaned the nib and feed many times. Writes well, but again dry. Any solution how to make it wetter?
@penkino13 жыл бұрын
Ive not had any Parker 15's so i can not comment, however ink flow can be adjusted by widening the gap on the nib. If you try to do this yourself then be carefull as you could ruin the nib. Thanks

Here in 2022 in Canada, I recently bought both the Bond Street, and Royal Blue, though they are now both encased with a S/S body, great durable FP. Writes well, and stand outs as their ballpoint counterparts in the 90s during my university days. Still have the 2-tone gold/chrome, still keeps on working well. Hope to complete my Jotter collection some day, with the CT, and Kensington.

I picked up this bad boy in December 2019. Early days, but absolutely love it so far. I had a Lamy Safari before but I could not get along with the angles sides of the grip. This spherical shape feels way more natural to me. It does feel a little on the light side overall, but it is still heavier than the Lamy, and look way less plasticy. Medium nib comes up finer than on the Lamy, but it writes very smoothly imho. I am a fan 👍

Without the metal clip, that Parker fountain pen reminds me of my very first school fountain pen that I got in primary school, but it did need the 'normal' fountain pen refills. The only thing missing is a small metal part on the back of the fountain pen.

Dear Stef, I think you covered in this video almost all the important aspects related to those recently designed Fountain Pens. I admit and agree with you that they were an excellent choice for the first Fountain Pen owned by a student. I admired much the cooperation between you and the Company which offered those Fountain Pens and I believe that they reflect a deep knowledge of the human nature and of the Fountain Pens in general. Furthermore, I think that those beautiful new created Fountain Pens Collection would be the messenger of a lifestyle, just showing a new look of it. I am confident in that you would know how to be the interpret of those valuable things of the past that need to be transmitted to the new generation. Please, keep in mind that, for the most of the teenagers who would become the new owners of the offered Fountain Pens, you would remain for many-many years the expert who offered them the first Fountain Pen and who stimulated them to turn back to the handwriting! Thank you for the video and for reviewing those Fountain Pens prepared to be offered at London Pen Show as messengers and links between generations! Best Regards Anton-Mihai

So is this a new pen/model? Back in my Parker selling days there was no Parker Jotter fountain pen, only ballpen and pencil either steel or special (plastic barrel.) I remember the day when the Parker 15 fountain pen was deleted. I/Parker sales people always sold a 15 pen as a fountain pen to the Jotter pen and pencil. Nice to see they have finally revived the 15! I used to sell these pens to the public for £4.99 special £6.99 steel, that's 1990's prices! I notice there's a difference from what I remember to the shell, or section as you say! It was always back in my days to refer to this part of the pen as the shell, no matter what pen company described this part of the pen as the shell. O' the times they are a changin'!

World of Parker > Our Story > Legacy > "CHAPTER VI JOTTER As the ballpoint pen began to emerge in the mid-forties, PARKER, driven by the desire to only produce reliable pens, patiently conducted extensive research until perfecting the refill. And in 1954 PARKER launched Jotter to complete their portfolio. This was the first quality ballpoint pen with a large refill which has become one of the world’s most iconic pens and is still to this day renowned for it’s style, reliability and functionality, down to its signature click." 64 years since the Parker 'Jotter' name has been around. :)

Just to read in the Parker pens.net one realize that the Jotter was never a fountain pen; Parker was making very good with their 51 model. After nine years of developing, they presented the first Jotter: a ballpoint pen with a striped orange, green, or red nylon barrel. Those original pens are surprisingly expensive in used market today. And for a try to win one FP from Stef, they were from 1954.
@laideae6 жыл бұрын
Two questions: Where are these pens made? And, do the color Jotters have a metal barrel? I want to buy one of these, but from my experience with the Parker 15, I kind of prefer the metal barrel models versus those made in plastic. Subtle changes, but worth taking a look. Thanks for the excellent overview!

Stef, very nice array of jotters. I found my old jotter the other day and i have noticed the difference in the style and how they have change over the years compared to mine. To tell you the truth i think the modern version looks more refined and better quality. So i am going to get the modern version to compare. But overall to me me the new version looks less cheaply made than my vintage version so to speak. Thanks for another excellent review and hope you are able to give them away the lucky visitors at the London Pen Show.
