My buddy saw I got into gold panning and sent me an invitation to join their small gold mining operation up in Alaska. I can run just about any heavy equipment and have 8 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. I am so excited to work a job I love!

I managed through the first 2 seasons but I gave up - a bunch of scripted nonsense. The funny thing was that you could figure out that that nobody was making any money in spite of their mining results - when you added up just the expenses they revealed on the show, you realized they were operating at losses. The donated rental equipment is kind of what made their losses within reason for Discovery.

He isn't running anything - scripted nonsense. I think it was the second season where it was finally shown that he had a crew of 4 or 5 long time miners actually doing the mining - he was just a figurehead. Those guys weren't listening to some teenager - lol
