For the first time, a space craft built by humans has flown close to the Sun. In April of 2021, Parker Solar Probe "touched" the Sun by entering its corona. But what does that even mean? Please join astrophysicist Salman Hameed in exploring some of the science that Parker is uncovering in this remarkable mission in this Urdu (and Hindi) documentary video.

I watched the NASA’s video on this and I’m glad you mentioned switchbacks but I wish you had explained it a bit more in detail! I understand they create these kinks in the solar wind but what’s the importance of it? Why are scientists so interested in switchbacks?

Haris - scientists are interested in them because they can provide an insight about the origins of solar wind/storms. These were discovered only a few years ago by Parker Solar Probe. So these kinks allow us to trace back the origins of the kinks. If these go all the way back to the photosphere (which it looks like now), then that means that the solar wind's origins are connected with the magnetic activity there (instead of further up the chromosphere or corona). But more specifically, these allow astronomers to test various models that may heat up the solar wind. Simply amazing..... Quran tells 1400 year ago about our solar system and its relations to the moon and the Earth and even talk about its orbits which creates the days and nights and weathers. But Sadely Muslims never pondered and explore the secret of our solar system rather some so-called scholars even today denies the the earth rotation. I urge Muslims first to at least EXPLORE Quran and understand the great scientific knowledge, the book Allah SWT contains.

Asim - I don't know. For spacecrafts like Galileo and Cassini, it was decided towards the end of the mission that they will be crashed into Jupiter and Saturn, respectively. My guess is that something like this will take place here as well and Parker will send into the Sun (of course, it will stop communicating way before reaching the photosphere...)

Best part " In fact, one of the exoplanets has officially been named by Pakistan. Called Perwana, it orbits a star now named Shama. " Through your lectures i came to know JWT will increase our curiosity and imagination but will not add much in reality/ facts. Hypotheses would be abundant but will difficult to falsify them. For me JWT is incomplete piece of instrument that will be supported by later telescopes/ missions to make it inferential.
