Panspermia: Was Life on Earth Seeded from Outer Space? Urdu/Hindi | Kainaat Astronomy in Urdu
کیا زمین پر زندگی بیرونی خلا سے پیدا ہوئی تھی۔
How did life start on Earth? This is a fascinating puzzle. One of the ideas suggests that life on Earth may have come from outer space. This theory is called Panspermia. While it is not widely accepted by the scientific community, it is still an interesting idea worth exploring. Please join astrophysicist Salman Hameed in discussing Panspermia and why some scientists think it is a valid theory in this Urdu/Hindi science documentary video.

Great amazing work, the only channel in urdu which speaks with this much depth. Loved it. Sir i have some concern, life started on this planet initially in the form of a molecule or building block, but how it is possible that life made itself in such a perfect form form an organisim, plus whats your view on theory of evolution? Life was directly made perfectly? Or started from an organism.
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Faizan! As for the the question about the origins of life - it is a fascinating question. As I mentioned briefly, there are interesting ideas out there. But life did not start as a complex organism. In fact, we are just talking about the ability to replicate and store some information. This is the reason why clays structures are considered important and may be places where chemistry evolved into simple biology. So there are a lot of steps in between. And, yes, evolutionary principles are foundation to all life...and probably not just on this planet. :)

@@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu sir evolution makes sense but this human existance with such a complexity and perfection is mind blowing. Everyone of us is created with bang or stars that exploded 13.8 billion year ago, hence we all are star dust,fascinating. Then i study Islam and see current theories have some real contradiction.🥺🤲
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu 2 жыл бұрын
Faizan - the question is about the process. One can also ask the same question about the formation of the Earth. In most religions, including Islam, there is a mention of Earth being created. But we also think about the process of the formation of the Earth. Usually people don't think that Earth just appeared as is. In the same way one can think about about life and then also of humans. There is a process that led to life and there is a process that led to humans.

@@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu great example sir that earth is also created in stages same might go for life, the quran says "the sky and the earth were a single body" before being parted. Do the disbelievers not realize that the heavens and earth were ˹once˺ one mass then We split them apart? And We created from water every living thing. Thank you sir for all the guidance. Assalam Alaikum Dr. Salman, excellent video and intriguing topic. A few questions Q1. Is it assumed in panspermia that the source of building blocks of life is extraterrestrial? I mean all thos ingredients that constitutes life (or complex life) could easily be part of Earth when it was formed? Q2. What process could lead to making complex molecules on asteriods because I would assume that such complex molecules would require more conducive environment to develop?
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu
@KainaatAstronomyinUrdu 2 жыл бұрын
AoA Asad - yes, great questions! 1) Yes, early Earth can also produce animo acids etc. It was shown in the famous Miller-Urey experiment. But if it is easily available from comets/asteroids, it will probably be the ones used (it will be hard to tell the difference). Plus, molecules like ribose which have only recently been discovered in asteroids, and that makes comets/asteroids even more intriguing. But Earth has more places to work on the building blocks. 2) This is a great question. Well, as it turns out, dust particles are a great source of complex chemistry. Later stages of stars (when in red-giant phase) can lead to complex chemistry in the outer parts of its envelop. Planetary nebulae are also good places for such reactions - and in these cases, complex molecules then recycle back into star forming regions, from which new stars are forming. On the other side, we also now know that asteroids have lots of water. So you have water and organic compounds mixing together on asteroids, and given enough time, you may end up with complex molecules. There is now a whole field of "astrochemistry" that deals with this...

AoA Sarah! Great question. Well at least a few hours. But it can be longer as they go into cryptobiosis state. Now for how long? We don't know. We know that there are some bacteria on Earth that can be revived after tens of thousands of years in the right conditions. These are interesting questions and, as you can imagine, areas of active research. In fact, there are some ideas that perhaps we can use part of the Tardigrade DNA for humans to withstand the harsh conditions on Mars. All of this is quite speculative - but there is a reason why people are thinking about it... :)
