Let me tell you something, I've been a miner and a trader, i lived through 3 bull runs and bear markets. It's always the same, in the middle of the bull run there is a 'stall' where weak get out and then market continues to rally. By all the metrics we will see 80k+ BTC, 6.6k ETH, 300+ SOL and BicoIai (NVIDIA) in a 30 - 40 range. And this will be very very soon, so stay strong!

They were pushing people to buy before split saying it would be too late to buy after. People rushed to buy, then it crashed. Now, they are pushing people to buy before August 28th. I have 1,268 shares for roughly 73k which means I’m equal weight margin for 150k so 2x exposure. I’m basically gambling at this point but I’m also fine maintaining margin in a crash because I know long term Nvidia will come back. But yeah 2x exposure to Nvidia after earnings I’m ditching margin. If it crashes I will maintain. That will eat into any earnings but I won’t lose money long term I can maintain margin if it crashes or just take the loss. If it goes up sell the margin wait for a crash to enter again.

@@bggees I 100% got greedy. Taking it easy on the margin after this. And during the crash these last few weeks it was wild. I was down to 40k from 73k being over leveraged. I had to constantly deposit money which I was quickly running out of. The lowest I got was 15k left to margin call. Now it’s back up to 40k definitely can be a dangerous game to play. I might just get lucky enough to make some money here or break even and not try such big margin bets again lol

This isn't even a question for an investor. it's a question for a day trader. If your holding Long Term, at least 5 to 10 years, it's irrelevant. If you're a trader, good luck, and at these prices I wouldn't take a long position, especially if I'm looking to dump it fast. So, simple answer from my perspective as an old options floor trader...no. The simple fact that I'm reading this crystal ball stuff means even experienced traders ask these sorts of questions, and of course NVDA poses interesting questions about sustainability. P/E is just one thing. In this case, as of Aug 17, it's very high, very leveraged. It just says that there's a tremendous amount of expectation built into that price. Gee, what a revelation....... The question isn't so much will NVDA go up. The question(s) is, how profoundly will AI saturate and have real world application, and in what time frame. It's obvious that AI is the new big deal, even if I regard it as a lot of crap, and so Nvidia, with its strong position, fundamentally, regardless of the price in the common, is in a position to continue being strong. It's a reasonable Long Term play. Short term it's nothing more then a coin toss, if that's the way you like to play. And all the kings horses and men weighing in on the web have no idea whatsoever, period. If they did, they'd be trillionaires. The huge gains in the last years have nothing to do with anything fundamental or sustainable. We've seen examples countless times of this sort of panic buying inflation. The difference is the product. AI is more profound then tulips or coffee beans. (Is it?) Nvidia, specifically under the leadership of Jensen Huang, as savvy and brilliant as they come, suggests steady long term growth. What if he retires? What if they lose a major client? What if a competitor comes up with a stack that cures cancer etc.? AI is not flash in the pan (and I stopped buying gold at 1800) but it isn't gold either. it's just another digital developement thats showed up in a highly unstable global economy desperately looking for a winner to ride for awhile. It's always problematic trying to create a future in this moment that's actually decades away. High stock prices reveal nothing. i don't notice the sky changing color or the stars changing places in the universe or the price of a bag of potato chips ($7 for a stinking bag...I remember them at ten cents) coming down. F**K AI and all these panic buyers. Still, the way companies are gearing up, they're obligated to actually do something with all this software garbage, so the prophecy shall be fulfilled. Only buy it at this hideously bubbled price it you plan to hold it at least 5 years. Bitcoin is a better bet.

Earnings alone don't move stock prices. If there's some issues with Blackwell or the evolution of AI tech, the stock could dump, at least temporarily. Mag7's had good earnings at the end of July but sold off, due to concerns that AI capex lacks ROI.

So many contradictory messages that just translates to "noise." Just face it - no one can predict the market. Heck - no could have predicted the 8/5/24 crash, due to Japan raising interest rates. Who knows what will happen! The best advice is to keep some and only sell some when it reaches new highs. It's bound to come back down in the short term. It is important to lock-in your gains, first and foremost!

Yes you can sell your call options before the expiration date. You can sell it Thursday morning after earnings because earnings is Wednesday night.

What if you have your investment dollars maxed out with nvidia? Do sell before or after. Sorry, but you're taking a pretty conservative view here. If the stock is so great why wouldn't you load BEFORE earnings reports? Especially since you say they are going to have a good earnings report. Also, why is nvidia reporting AFTER the market closes. Could it be bad news is coming. It's harder to sell on the after market hours than during. i don't get it!
