Set up with the optical illustration without cameras is showing the car in a horizontal position with PDC sensor readings. Along with the Android HU cameras, the parking aid view will display the camera view on the left side and the PDC sensor readings on the right side of the screen.
Connection hints (how I have done it; may not be the "right" way, but you can use it for inspiration):
For the PDC front console button power, I used the ESP button power wire (the blue one).
VCDS coding is straightforward. Depending on whether you have visual aid or not, set the appropriate value as below:
Open Module [76] - Parking Aid
Short Coding:
0?xxxxx: Optical Illustration
0 = without Optical Illustration in Display
2 = with Optical Illustration in Display
Save changes, then enable the graphic display in MMI under the Parking menu (click 'yes' when prompted for default work group coding from VCDS).
To route the wires to the trunk through the back seats, use a stiff piece of wire and duct tape, starting from the trunk.
Connect CAN wires to the blue connector "Convenience system control unit" on the right side of the trunk.
To get accessory +12V in the trunk, I used the pin 21 cable of the blue connector.
