Right on! Solid info. One quick point though. Russia was too busy colonizing Eurasia four hundred years ago to turn its eyes towards Africa, but Wagner mercenaries are swarming the continent now, fomenting military coup d'etats and worse. They massacred 500 villagers in Mali during a five-day operation in March of 2022 according to a United Nations report released in May. Last December, the UN Security Council eased an arms embargo against the DRC first imposed after the end of a civil war in 2003. France drafted the resolution which passed with support from Russia and China. Mercenaries with Romanian passports started arriving in Goma near the border with Rwanda within the week, according to a Deutsche Welle article from January looking into rumors about white mercenaries fighting in the DRC conflict.

Two sad, but essential movies that I think EVERY Black American/continental African should watch that deal with the causes of and fallout from the occupation and exploitation of Africa by white and non-African nations are "Sometimes in April" and "Hotel Rwanda"...preferably in that order. They are completely separate films that almost act as accidental companion pieces that take place during the Rwandan Massacre in 1994. The genocide in the Congo is history silently (insofar as the greater American populace is concerned) repeating itself. Great job on this video, as always. And, as is often my custom with many of your videos, I'll be sharing this on my Facebook page. I don't have 20K friends/followers, but I'll still speak this to everyone I can.

PREACH! I'm so grateful for your quick yet concise overview of current events in the motherland. Instead of celebrating the day the colonizers have determined a Day of Thanks I am hosting a documentary on showing what is happening to the desperately poor people of the DRC as they try to scratch out bits of cobalt from the soil so that they can eat - because of course we don't learn that the only way we can have cell phones and electric vehicles is via lithium and cobalt that kills the people scratching for it. I am also going to share a way for folx to donate via an organization that take only a mere tidbit before directly passing funds to the people. Sharing to FB brilliant young woman! Happy touring!
