The series and your review was PHENOMENAL!! It’s 1.75 a minute to talk to inmate. Yes, they are still human and even within the prison can thrive. 23 hours in a room…take 1 person out and that’s solitary confinement!! Well done…as always. Unlocked is a must see!

I saw the trailer and was like, about darn time!!! Prisoners are HUMANS and should be treated as such. I've never agreed to continue punishing a person while actually being punished; that's sadistic!! Hope it works!

I've unfortunately had too many family members and friends pass through the prison system. It's sick how Americans casually dehumanize segments of the population.

In more "socially developed" countries, prisons are for rehabilitation. In America, prisons are meant to punish.. I guess it fulfils some kind of Biblical /An eye for an eye need that seems ingrained in the collective national psyche. Or as a source of cheap labor. In Germany, I think it is, if you're in prison and you escape, that's not even a crime. It's considered normal for a prisoner to want to escape from jail. In the movie "In the Heat of the Night," Sidney Poitier described it best: "There's two kinds of prison time: White time and colored time."

I don’t like it. They’ve made a show and are now profiting off of the prisoners/jailed. Seems like even more of a reason to send folks to jail. As if we didn’t have that happening enough with our school to prison pipeline. Now it’s school to prison influencer. They need to give MONEY to hire a full staff of mental health professionals. Not that WHAT they are doing is bad. But the addition of cameras for show seems so freaking exploitative!

I respectfully disagree, that was a show and almost guaranteed if it was a failed experiment it would not have made a show. I worked in prison system for over twenty years and most of the people there are not there for singing of key in the choir. We tried that experiment in our system and guess what, what they not showing is prison power dynamics. We sometimes in our community always hollering about how many black people are locked up, but what about the black victims of these crimes. What is not commonly talked about is criminals usually victimize their own communities. Yes, over 93% of violent crime in the yt community is committed by yts. A lot of young black people want to talk about the high incarceration rates but we’re not born when the black community went to Congess asking them to do something about the epidemic of crime in the community. The problem was those same people that asked for tougher sentences forgot to come back and tell they family members to stop committing crimes( the ones that was of the criminal element). I have had family members locked up too, and it wasn’t because they were black.

Memphis 201 county jail followed Pulaski County on direct supervision. Epic fail. LAWD I hope 201 County jail don't follow this.
