COPIED FROM: Georgia Code 40-6-221 (3) "Parking place for persons with disabilities" means any area on public or private property which has been designated as reserved for use of persons with disabilities as follows: (A) By a blue metal reflective sign which is at least 12 inches in width and 18 inches in length and is erected at a height of seven feet from the bottom of the sign to its ground surface and in such manner that it will not be obscured by a vehicle parked in the space and bearing the following words: "Permit Parking Only," "Tow-Away Zone," and the international symbol for accessibility. The warnings required in this subparagraph shall be centered on the sign, printed in white, and shall occupy not less than 75 percent of the surface area of the sign. "Supposing" does not change the facts. The car was parked wrong according to the rules of the complex and therefore the property is within their legal rights to have the car towed ... getting it out of a handicapped space was just a nice bonus.

@@Mystress1980 I agree with the flat tire, they should be towed but you can't tow them "just" for parking in a handicap space when it is not a legal HC space, You can't tow them for the amount of time they park in a space if the car is legally tagged and registered. I have several cars and there are times when I don't drive a few of them for months at a time, are you going to tow them, talk about BS logic. There are requirements for legal HC spaces according to Federal law (not BS logic) and as much as you would like Tweak the rules, you can't. Being in the towing business as long as Johnny has been I'm surprised he doesn't realize the requirements. Had he known the law he should have driven up to the scene and said he was mistaken and they were towing for the flat tire only. People need to spend a little time educating themselves before they blow up and reply to something they think they know a little bit about.

@@georgestiles3500 Just asking, because it's private property, can property rules included in all signed leases allow the towing of cars out of handicap parking spaces regardless if the space is ADA compliant or not? I'm no lawyer or expert, just curious. I was unaware of the ADA rules regarding the signage. I am on a HOA Board and all our spaces are marked with signs.

I just follow the law and I am really shocked by the number of folks that are ignorant on the particular subject. People are shooting the messenger just for bringing the facts to their attention. It's too bad you judged me before you knew the facts of my own disabilities. I copied a section from the Georgia State Code. This is basically on every State's website since it is Federal law. I really like how you explain your actions in the most simple terms. Your job is to TOW CARS. You receive a list and you get them 2 at a time. The people don't obey the rules they get towed. And if their vehicle is tagged all they need to do is contact the manager's office and have a dialogue. If the office doesn't hear from you then apparently the car needs to be towed.

@@georgestiles3500 The complex managers had stickered that car multiple times. That alone justifies the tow. It's private property. The missing sign might let you fight a parking citation from a cop. It doesn't mean squat on private property. Property owners make the parking rules and apartment dwellers agree to those rules when they move in.

I'm a legit handicap parker and feel that even if they had a placard, they had "commandeered" that space for 4 months with a flat tire and multiple warnings. They still deserved to be towed or pay the drop fee. Although I can see the dilemma Johnny would be in and the drama they would cause for him if they were a disabled driver.

It’s always amazing to how the cars can sit for months with nothing taken care of for tags, flat tires etc, but the moment Johnny shows up, all of a sudden it’s urgent! And they expect Johnny to wait while they call five friends trying to scare up enough money, or call the motor vehicle about tags or whatever. You’re right Johnny, they are dumb asses.

So glad to see you moving vehicles that are illegally parked. Whether it’s a handicapped or on a corner or where ever it is, to many people don’t think the rules apply to them. I do have a Handicapped placard, there are times I can’t walk to the door & other times that I can walk further. When I am feeling well, I don’t take a handicapped place, I have a heart for others.

Just about all these apartments in Gwinnett county and in Atlanta have in the the lease that No car will be disabled or any mechanical work will be performed on the premises ..Otherwise Code Enforcement will write up the office and give Tickets to property owner Or management👍 Keep up the good work johnny I see you out there once in a while

Because the problem is you get all these so called diy people who have project cars sitting taking up parking for days and weeks and months. Now if it was just a quick job no one would have any problem. But it makes a big mess sometimes too. There are places in many cities where you can take your car and work on it if you want to diy.

“You shouldn’t have towed those cars”. It’s the dudes job, this is how he feeds his family and supports his life. He follows the rules and isn’t a ride aggressive person. For the car to be towed the person has broken the rules and potentially the law for far longer than is acceptable and it could easily have been sorted and fixed. Those people chose not to and they may get away with it a lot of the time but eventually your luck will run out.

There was no sign with the handicap symbol, there must be a sign in addition to the pavement marking. Suppose there were leaves or snow covering the pavement. Research the ADA website for the requirements of a Disable parking space.

🤬There's something seriously wrong with a person who thinks they can park in a handicap spot for months when they don't even need it. The entitlement is unreal sometimes. Karma came for them tho🤷♀️
