PARKING SENSOR / İzzet KORKMAZ & Yavuz Selim DURAK

Problem:
When the vehicle is parked, the impediment which is behind the vehicle in a blind spot cannot be detected by the mirrors in the vehicle and cause property damage.
Solution:
To warn driver by detecting the distance between the vehicle and obstacles that the driver cannot see through the mirrors when parking the car with the Arduino sensor system.
Needs:
Arduino Uno, 2 Hcr-04 Ultrasonic Sensors, Breadboard , Buzzer, LCD Screen, Jumpers and 2 leds.
Workflow:
First, the problem was identified. Inexpensive and effective systems for solving the problem were considered and discussed. Then, the system to be used was decided and the material list required for the system was prepared and the materials were provided. The circuit diagram was designed, then the software section was started. The codes of the system were written with Arduino and tested to see if the system was effective and serial communication was established between Arduino and MATLAB for the feedback to be taken after the distance determination. After this step MATLAB is used for the frequency of the bell is inversely proportional to the distance and the information of the received distance is displayed on the LCD screen. In addition, the driver placed in the rearview mirror with LEDs on which side can detect the blind spot. For example, if the blind spot is on the left side, it will be warned by the light in the left rearview mirror. After all, operations were performed, the system was tested and a working prototype was physically prepared.
