Hi Christina, lovely to hear from you on this cold and frosty morning. Stay warm. Ron

Good morning Ron! Sorry I missed the Bluebell video one - I am behind with everything again - as usual! I will try and catch up. Looks like it will be a wet weekend, so I am out filming later today on a canal (not the Cotswold Canals this time) and make the most of some nice winter sun while it lasts. So true about recording histories of our relatives - I wish I had done so with my grandfather, who fought in World War One. Another lovely cosy Parkinsons family catch up vlog. Thank you. Glad that family members are on the mend. Thank you for the mention. The Malvern Hills is still my absolute favourite place in the whole of the region that I cover - I personally don't think it can be beat for landscape scenery. Hope you and all the PW family have a good week. Take care, Paul

Hi Paul, like you I have trouble keeping up, so much to see, so little time. Enjoy your time in the sun, but look out for ice, some is still hanging about. Have fun. Ron

A truly beautiful walk, Ron. The English countryside is unbeatable, and the autumn colours added to the pleasure. It looked quite strenuous in places, and all those set-up shots added quite a distance. When you did the one as you started home, I thought for a minute you'd forgotten to go back for the camera, but that couldn't be true, of course! Oh, and the music was great, and I enjoyed singing along with Nat. Thank you!

Thanks Ron, really lovely walk and all for free, even in winter it has its beauty. Elgar of course associated with the Malvern hills but you knew that and deliberately edited in.

As you noted, Ron. It truly is a glorious countryside. And quite the pace you achieved also. Seeing you strut fairly quickly along, I think I would have difficulty keeping up with you. Good on you.

A Very Good Morning to you Ron. Greetings from a very cold and snowy Poland. Winter has arrived here. The third week in November, and on cue, the snow has arrived in earnest. Consequently, you gorgeous film has cheered me up no end. What a beautiful walk through England's still green and pleasant land. The accompanying music was perfect especially the superb Nat King Cole with May to December, reminding us in the song, just what autumn is like. Being part of PWs world wide family means a lot to me. How so very nice and supportive everyone is of each other. Makes you feel good to be alive. One complaint is that all us UK OPS who need financial support to help us with the astromonical cost of heating our homes, are this winter, going to find it tough because I guess that many of us haven't come under the heading of being means tested! Oh well, that's life I guess

That, Ron, was a wonderful walk. Heaven, in my mind, would be just such a walk it the English countryside with Nimrod playing softly in the background...maybe with a demanding little dog by my side. I must admit, my eyes were misting up a bit during your walk. It's cooling down a bit here and all the leaves have fallen and have been raked. We're looking forward to next week's walk, thanks for getting us out! Have a good week Ron, James and Sumac

Hi Both, what are you doing up this early James, or is it late? Sumac would have enjoyed that walk, and this time of year it can be very bracing. Like you we have now collected all the leaves up. Always love to hear from you, take care of you both. Ron

Afternoon Ron. Ah the boiler feed pump. Check at 8.49 and 13.10 there is a chuffing sound when the loco is stationary. That's the pump working. It's a small engine with a steam cylinder at one end and the pump at the other . No crank shaft or flywheel and just goes back and forth. The Malverns are quite splendid and it's a lovely film with all those wonderful colours . Pete Tan and Syd

Thanks Ron. It has been a long time but what with my Autumn extended visit to Dartmouth and yes, no fewer than 6 funerals in recent weeks, just haven't got round to posting. I note your remarks about recording memories for posterity. I have written 20,000 words on mine for the grandchildren but But I really ought to put them on a screen, rather than paper, to ensure that the kids read them. I love the Malverns but I was unfamiliar with your route today. Lovely views so thanks. Peter

Mornin' Ron, Excellent vlog and walk!! Nothing to report on the KS, I went to have a scan last week and will go to the specialist next week so I will update next time, I'm feeling good at the moment, thanks for asking!! I wonder whether anyone here has experienced the delights of bacon and egg on a shovel?, I did see it being done at the Elland Road Steam Museum only a few days ago courtesey of Mr M.Zero and they used a special clean one. But I think in real life they got a cursery wipe with an oily rag - is thats whats known a seasoned pan? I love these autumnal walks and the English countryside is just perfect for them. The woods near me are pine so they don't really change and there are no ferns either but there are plenty of deciduous forest, chestnuts and others but you have to seek them out a little. On another channel I follow, the presenter commented that presenting his hobby, machining, on KZbin was in fact two hobbies. This is never truer on todays walk, so many shots of you walking by or at the end disappearing off screen. All mixed together with great music. A superb result, well done!! Plenty of birdsong as well, did I detect the Lesser Spotted Trev amongst them? Fast trains sounds fun its just as well that we have to prepare virtual sandwiches, whilst my virtual cupboard is full to the top with Branston, the real one tells another story ..... Nuria wrote this stanza, I'll be sending it off to to Sarah Catherine Martin She went to Mercadona To buy him some pickle, When she came back he'd just had a nibble, no pickle And so the poor boy had none!! You pronouced Pau perfectly, it is in fact Paul in English. On a similar vein Núria is Mary in English both being names from the Catalonia or Valencia regions which have a different language to most of the rest of Spain. Have a great (and snowy) weekend!!

Good morning Ron and thank you for today's video. I've been a bit down over the last couple of weeks. Having injured my left shoulder scrambling up a mountain some time ago, I was convinced I had torn the tendons in it. I did the right shoulder some time ago and had surgery to repair the tendon, have some bone shaved from the shoulder and shoulder blade and had a tendon to the bicep cut which you can do without; I ended up with scaffolding and bits of string in there but, after 10 weeks in a sling and not being able to do much, including driving, I made a full recovery. Thinking that I would be looking at the same surgery again on the left shoulder I went to see the consultant to get the results of the MRI scan on the shoulder - It is not good news! The main tendon is torn completely along its length and all the way through it's thickness and has left a 3 cm gap between the two halves. They will shave the bone and cut the bicep tendon again, but the probability of being able to repair the tendon in such a state is very low. I am being referred to one of the top shoulder surgeons here to get the surgery done and, basically, if he can't fix it then nobody can. Compared to the ailments that some of the PW family are coping with this is trivial, and I send everyone who is suffering at the moment my best wishes. Serious amounts of snow up here in the welsh hills this week (I live at 265 Metres) and it is only now starting to clear. Nothing to compare with the suffering that the people of Spain are going through, and thanks to David for keeping us updated on the weather there. The weather is quite a challenge on the Pontypool & Blaenavon Heritage Railway for which I volunteer. It is pretty bleak out there in the valleys and working on permanent way you spend 99% of the time outdoors. We were due to have a contractor come in today with a giant crane to move some equally giant Portacabins to free up some land needed for our new loco shed. However, there is so much ice around the site and at their depot that it makes it too dangerous for transporting cranes and operating them in these conditions. I really enjoyed the Malvern Hills walk. Between 1983 and 1993, when living near Worcester, I used to work at an Army site at the far east end of the hills - it is now a housing estate! As a civilian of appropriate grade I was invited to join the officers mess and we had some great functions, both formal and more social there. However, one night there was a break in and in attempt to force open some gaming machines for the money the intruders caused an electrical fault which set the place on fire. Very little was left but, a very large amount of beer in cans survived. We therefore held several walks across the Malverns, starting at British Camp, back to site with the reward being unlimited amounts of free beer recovered from the fire!! Thanks again for this week's offering Ron and my very best wishes to you, Pauline and the PW family. Regards Trev.

Hi Trev, so sorry to learn of your injuries. We are programmed to think the worst but that doesn’t mean it is going to happen. Apparently we are supposed to ignore these worse case scenarios until we have proof. Easier said than done. The Parkinson’s Walks family will be with you in spirit. It has been a bit quiet without you these last few weeks, David and I have had no one to pick on, James is good at dodging bullets, welcome back I guess the heritage railway is a good distraction but I bet you are taking care with the shoulder. Loved the Malvern beer rush, lots of merry folk around. Take care of yourself Trev. Thinking of you. Ron

Hi Trev, Sorry to hear about your shoulder, you have my sympathy, both me and Nuria have suffered with shoulder tendon problems. In my case I'm not sure if I have any!!. Happened many years ago playing football, I used to play in goal and got charged by a forward. The docs told me at the time that there wasn't anything they could do, although they did say that they put staples in for rugby players, it wasn't recommended. I'm sure techniques will have improved since then (that was about 27 years ago). It hasn't really stopped me doing anything. More recently Nuria has been suffering in her case it's been more as a result of repetitive strain. A typical teachers problem and has been very painful. Thanks for your words on the flooding I've been through a few of these over the years and learnt to respect the rain far more than I used to do. Take care with the ice. All the best for a speedy recovery!! PS: It was good to hear the lesser spotted Trev on today's walk in the Malverns!!

@@davidberlanny3308 Hello David. Many thanks for your best wishes and I hope you and Nuria can remain as pain free as possible. Yes, you never know when I will pop up in the background of Ron's films; flying my aircraft, mowing the lawn or, indeed, as a bird lurking in the trees awaiting Ron's arrival 😂. Best wishes to you both down there in Spain.
