parkrun Research Board seminar: NHS@75: parkrun on prescription

As parkrun UK celebrated the NHS 75th birthday on the 8/9th July 2023, we markedthe occasion by hosting a seminar- about the health benefits of walking, running and volunteering at parkrun. We discussed research findings from parkrunners who have long-standing health conditions, asked what inspires them to take part and how they benefited from the parkrun community. We asked a parkrunning GP how and why he prescribes parkrun to his patients, and we spoke to one of his many ‘success stories’ who told the inspiring story of how parkrun changed his life.
