Why calzones are so hated? No idea, but as an italian who lives in italy, and he is specifically from the city that invented pizza and calzone, i can tell you that calzone is like 3 hamburgers, it's like 3 meals, you have them when you drank liters of alcohol, but you're still lucid enough to know that you're going to have a massive hangover, so on your way home(yes Calzone is sold as street food on the roads of Naples) you have one, the dough combined with the cheese and meat inside, soaks the sugars of the alcohol...not completely(actually depends on how big the calzone is) but it works like that, you can also have an extra salami pizza, but calzones are more...portable.
