Parks and Rec did wedding episodes so well, each wedding paired perfectly with each character's unique personality.

The change between season 1 and season 2/3 isn't that they changed Leslie, it that they changed how people reacted to her. First season they treated her like Michael Scott (an annoyance), but in season 2 they switched it that everyone thinks she's awesome, and that made all the difference in the show.
@MontgomeryWenis3 жыл бұрын
Same thing happened with Michael in the Office. The first season tried to make him more British version accurate, but it didn't land with the American audience, so they made him more likeable in the following seasons.
@robertcampbell80703 жыл бұрын
@@MontgomeryWenis Not really the same, exactly the opposite actually. Leslie's character didn't change, the way other characters reacted to her did. Michael's character completely changed, while the other characters reactions to him didn't.
@BabyGirlTiny3 жыл бұрын
To be honest, the change was natural. In the beginning it made sense for everyone to think Leslie was annoying since she hasn't accomplished anything. But once she started accomplishing things, thats when everyone around her changed.
@WTDProductions3 жыл бұрын
It’s true about the way others react to her, but she also did become much more competent at her job (as a way to show why her coworkers think she’s awesome). They dialed back her ditsyness a bit and made sure to give her moments that showed she carried the department even if she was quirky
@pennalopievalentine66042 жыл бұрын
@@WTDProductions she has always been amazing at her job. From episode one we know that she is an incredible hard worker. The writers definitely improved her character but she is neurodivergent and brilliant through out the series, I really liked that they showed her getting closer to the team and becoming a family, they accepted her and she accepted them most of the time which was amazing to see
@RevolverLink3 жыл бұрын
Part of why Parks and Rec has so many "go big" episodes like Leslie & Ben's wedding (which, iirc, was originally written with the idea of it being the potential series finale) and many of the season finales is because the show was *constantly* in danger of cancellation for basically its entire 7 year run. The writers and cast never knew when their time might be up, so they wrote multiple episodes that would've made for an emotionally satisfying place to leave off, just in case.

So, so many great moments in this one, but I think my favorite is how Chris and Andy both *immediately* and with full intent to kill shot up when Jamm came in during the wedding. Having rewatched the show like five times, what makes it is that sense of commitment and love that this group of weirdly cobbled together friends forges with each other.

Always a high point in the week when you drop your newest Parks and Rec reaction! Thank you so much for continuing after the pandemic took you away from it for a bit. Mikey is always missed and I hope he can get in with as many as possible as you finish, but I love this group and how much you love and appreciate this show and what makes it so special! Great characters great humor, yes, but it’s the HEART. Magical perfect television. Have you considered watching and reacting to “New Girl”?? Such a great show and the guys in it are HILARIOUS. I think Hailey and AJ especially would love it. The comedy style of Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, Lamorne Morris (as the best sitcom character of all time Winston Bishop aka Winnie the Bish, aka Brown Lightening, Akak Theodore K Mullins aka Retired Admiral Jay Digeroo), Damon Wayans etc is just priceless. Or another comedy if you’re looking for one that I haven’t seen much is “Silicon Valley” or the best current show on HBO, “SUCCESSION”. I would LOVE to see a smart reaction channel do Succession!! Dark comedy/drama yes, but insanely good writing and no one is reacting to it!
