Not really, the one from the office was different, because Michael actually knew what he was doing. He pretty went there to build a long term business relationship, rather than a signing one deal, so he wanted to befriend the guy. As a British person, it's normally incredibly cringy when American TV "does" Britain. Thinking about it, this scene kinda reminds me of that time Jan and Michael Scott struck a deal with that one guy. Jan tried to be straight forward but Michael prioritised personal connection first.
