I know it’s probably the joke but I always found it fascinating how Sweetums is not only fully aware of unhealthy their products are for the people of Pawnee but they are purposefully making the city’s residents overweight. I don’t know why but I find that bit of corruption in their company to be fascinating. I mean yeah it’s pretty gross but it did take over a year of studies and research by subject experts and doctors to come to the conclusion that certain contaminants are essentially impossible to avoid in industry-scale food preparation, while also being essentially safe, if gross, to consume. Of course it’s going to get MUCH worse now that the Supreme Court struck down Chevron, we’re looking at food and water quality (among other things) going waaaaay down in any states that don’t pass local legislation that meets or exceeds federal standards. And lots of smaller red states that don’t have domestic food production will essentially have to take whatever compromises food preparation companies choose to make in terms of quality just to avoid having empty supermarket shelves.

Capitalism is simply a system where the means of production is held by private individuals like when the Dutch sailors decided to buy shares in each other's trips in order for there families to not go bankrupt since 1/10 ships sank.
