I can't even comprehend the nerve of people to choose to move next to an established amusement park and then complain that the rides that have been operating long before their house was built is causing too much noise. Like, that's your problem for not taking that into consideration before choosing to move in there. That's like the people near Disneyland that complain about fireworks, like Disney was there before any of those homes were even conceived.

People who can't stand the noise generated by the coasters need to move away! The park has been there since 1971. A lot of the buildings and houses that now surround the park weren't even there as far as the mid 90s when I started going to the park. You should know the risks of buying property near a theme park.

Superman the Ride at SFNE is 208 feet. That's also an Intamin but it seems a bit more of a fit if the idea is that there is some kind of deliberate foreshadowing going on. I still don't know what it would mean. Their drop tower Scream is an S&S and the height is 205 which is close but it would still be weird if that was the intended answer and they mistakenly listed the height of the hypercoaster in the park instead of their own creation.

Superman Escape from Krypton opened second and shared the title of tallest and fastest coaster built at the time... But the Tower of Terror at Dreamworld Australia opened theirs first and therefore it was actually the first to reach the 100 MPH mark. Your park seems to have the same issues Dreamworld had with the TOT. Tower of Terror closed in 2019 and all spare parts were actually send to Magic Mountain. The Tower which housed the TOT also houses 2 free fall rides called the Giant Drop. Dreamworld removed the track of the Tower of Terror leaving the Giant Drop as is. Perhaps this is more likely?

Waiting to hear the fate of Montezooma's Revenge. I'm at the park today and one of the tarps on the tower has been blown away. It looks like there's been no work done on the track or tower underneath.

I'm quite sure I read very recently that the Sky Tower will be refurbished and reopened. Superman: Escape From Krypton and Viper should do the same.

I double checked there is no S&S coaster with that stat. Steel curtain has a 205 ft drop but it’s not vertical, and there’s an S&S coaster in China with a 60 m top hat (no photo and that’s still short of 208 ft). That’s as close as I could find to match the trivia. So unless their trivia was supposed to be a drop tower it makes no sense at all.

Superman: Escape From Krypton is one of my favourite coasters in the park. They CANNOT close it down! The ride is so ICONIC. It's is worth refurbishing. Personally, I've been riding it since I was a young boy, when it was still Superman: The Escape. It's one of the very first rides I was brave enough to try and helped me conquer my fear of coasters. It would tear me to pieces if I could never ride it again! Everything, the ride, the Fortress of Solitude station, the John Williams score playing in the speakers brings back so many great memories. I've also come to love riding Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom, another reason which makes saving this attraction worth it. SAVE SUPERMAN AND LUTHOR!

I think if they are going to close and remove Superman, they are going to do it while they start construction of the new ride…. Otherwise, like you said, there is no real access to the track along the top of the hill…. Either way, removal will be a nightmare. Thank for the video man!

Definitely not on purpose.... That tower is WAY taller than 208 feet tall... You tower way over Goliath on Lex Luthor, which is taller than 208 feet tall. Also, had a great conversation with a park supervisor and he told me that 2026 is going to be a Vekoma 🤔🤔

@ a vekoma switchback would definitely be possible under that “family thrill” genre but I’m hoping with the epic thrills tag we get something a little bit more intense hopefully with some solid airtime as that’s the only slight gap magic mountain could use more of besides twisted collosus

Honestly for their next big thrill coaster, I'd love to see a B&M Hyper like Mako or Diamondback, or even better yet, something like those that's scaled up to the size of a hyper. It wouldn't have the issue of Orion, Leviathan, or Fury where it's already in the park with a B&M Hyper, so it feels somewhat similar (Fury a bit less so than the others) But if we are going more realistic, I'd love even something like Lightning Run at Kentucky Kingdom! That thing has some serious airtime for being a "family thrill" coaster

I love the sound it makes, I love the location in the park, I love the ride experience (for the most part), and I think it is the coolest looking ride at the park! I really hope it sticks around, we need some good news after the awful closure of Ka and problems with Top Thrill 2

My guess is that Superman will have its launch portion removed and the tower itself will stay so that way Lex can keep going. Then they can replace the station and plaza with either a new restaurant, flat ride, or even a new coaster (MACK X-Treme Spinning Tower Coaster anyone?)

Lagoon has a few coasters but the majority of the park is heavy on family friendly everything or kids. Only a handful of things to do for adults that are worthy of a credit on top of the expensive price of a day ticket.
