Mamba's last break station before the last section of humps has been disabled in recent years, making the last part of the coster considerably faster, with way more airtime than any coster I've been on in a while.
@OutlawRunnerSDCКүн бұрын
Screamin' Eagle's tallest drop is actually its 3rd drop at 92 feet, the first drop is only 88 feet. So from the top of the 1st drop to the bottom of the 3rd drop is roughly 120ish feet and thats not even the lowest point of the ride. So 62mph is pretty accurate. As a former ride op, I've gotten to know this ride quite well, as well as the rest of the park.
@AirtimeThrillsКүн бұрын
interesting, would have never pegged the 3rd drop as it's highest
@Chillguy9922 сағат бұрын
Wow! Okay, I stand corrected. I was just about to type in how that speed is not possible with the drop height, but I did not realize there was such an elevation change. Thanks for clearing that up. I knew Screamin Eagle was supposedly the fastest coaster in the world for a couple of years, so I am relieved that the top speed was not a lie.
@OutlawRunnerSDC17 сағат бұрын
I've checked the access gates for Eagle's danger zones many times, it is quite the jog, very hilly and really exhausting. Also, I've seen the ride overspeed a few times, so it might've gone faster than 62mph at times.

Six Flags STL is dying for a face lift! While I'm glad we finally have a coaster for families, the recent flat rides just haven't really hit the mark for me. It's obvious we are in dire need of a new real coaster, but fixing what already exists would go a long way

I'm glad to see that Wildfire is still holding up in the rankings. It was the coaster my friends talked me into riding at 14. It made me feel like I could fly. I'd ridden Fire in the Hole and Thunderation before, but Wildfire was the one that made me love rollercoasters. Regarding Mr. Freeze, my sister and I feel like it goes slightly slower in Saint Louis than Over Texas and so you get more hangtime on the tophat. I don't know if anyone else has noticed that.

Interesting concept. I suspect there are a number of states that are large enough to have a decent collection of coasters but not so large they would become overwhelming to cover. I think Indiana (Holiday World, Indiana Beach) would be a good state for this format. Wisconsin (Mt. Olympus, Bay Beach), Iowa (Adventureland, Lost Island), and Minnesota (Valleyfair, Nickelodeon Universe) also. Ohio might be a bit much, plus I think you've already covered both the parks in that state in their own videos. I've also seen some people calling for Pennsylvania to be done, but that might also be a bit much, since there are five sizeable parks (Kennywood, Waldameer, Knoebels, Hersheypark, Dorney Park).
@SiberianThunderTКүн бұрын
I grew up in STL, MO and have been to all three parks at least once each back in my high school days, but I was a bit intimidated by the big coasters and don't actually remember riding anything outside of my go-to's at SFSTL. Gotta schedule a weeklong run-through of my home state at some point now that I'm much more of a coaster enthusiast.
@thomasstanley-kk2sgКүн бұрын
One of my first coaster trips after college (1993) was to Six Flags St. Louis. At the time, there were THREE coasters in the park: Screamin Eagle, River King Mine Train, and Ninja! Michigan's Adventure and Great Escape would scoff at that lineup! And that was at the third and last of the original Six Flags parks! Missouri and Mid America deserved better. I have envisioned a B&M hyper in the 160-180' range that uses the defunct Ninja's station 😁. It could be an out and back that runs north toward the Screamin Eagle. The terrain rises about 70 feet at the rear of the park. The ride could maintain its speed by dropping down the grade as it returned to the station (like a fan favorite at Holiday World). In the Fall, they could have a coaster event and disable the midcourse brakes for one night; It would be a borderline top-ten ride!!! But it's SFSL, so I am selling that idea!
@ColaholikerКүн бұрын
I was surprised too when you said that Wildfire is the best paced coaster in Missouri. Sure,Ii expected it to be quite high up on the pacing list, but I would have expected a certain RMC close by to outrank it in pacing, as Outlaw Run *feels* faster paced. My mental prediction was that they would be close, but in reverse order. Maybe it is because B&Ms just look so different with their long and wide trains going through the elements compared to the tighter turns and bends with RMC. I don't know. But I like both.
@justind4936Күн бұрын
For Mamba did you use a video from before or after they reprogrammed it? Just curious cause it used to crawl after the mid course but ever since the fixed it a few years ago the trains fly over those final hills. It would probably make a difference in the numbers.

Love this video! I was just at all three parks last summer when I did a MO theme park road trip and that's what makes this video so fun for me. The Boss was my LEAST favorite ride (way too rough for me), Time Traveler is my new #1 coaster (so much fun), we didn't get to ride Prowler because they were waiting on a part, I loved the atmosphere and theming for SDC and I actually enjoyed all of the coasters here, and SF St. Louis definitely needs some TLC and another big coaster. All of them are fun parks overall and I definitely want to go back to SDC and Worlds of Fun someday! =)

For Screamin' Eagle, a freefall from 92' would get you to about 52 MPH. So if you were going 10 MPH at the drop and it was perfectly efficient, you could theoretically get to 62 MPH. Most likely it would need to be somewhere around 15 MPH pre-drop to hit 62.
@madburgers5415Күн бұрын
It hits its top speed on the third hill
@OutlawRunnerSDCКүн бұрын
The 1st drop is actually 88 feet and the 3rd drop is 92 feet, and stands roughly 20-30 feet lower than the first drop, so the difference in height between the top of the 1st and bottom of the 3rd drop would be ~110-120ish feet
