As of today , I have ridden "Emperor " 999 times in just over 5 months. Tomorrow (8-24-22) is my 65th. Birthday, I plan on on making my 1,000 plunge on this incredibly fun coaster! Come on down and ride....cheers, scotto- GREAT VID GUYS!!!

As of yesterday (3-22-23), I've ridden "Emporer " 1,960 times since it opened just over a year ago this month. Crazy as it is, I've yet to get tired or bored with this coaster and a couple reasons for this I think are as follows. Virtually no wait times during the weekdays, roughly 50 seconds of absolute fun at a minimum of 60+ mph with 3 inversions of coaster goodness. Just let go, relax and float through the drop and inversions and I think you'll agree....scotto-

Hangtime has better hangtime (duh) though emperor has amazing pacing so I’m not sure which I like more.

8/10 ride for me! Just rode it on 3/27/22 for the first time. Not a big fan of the vest restraint. I’m a small person and at the end of the ride the lap bar was pushing so hard into me and it hurt. Also… that restraint gives NO AIRTIME! 😭 Amazing drop! Very quick wait time with line always moving! Overall a superior ride for SeaWorld San Diego!

Hi, my name is Daniel; I met you on the day that Hangtime opened. Yesterday, 3/3/22, I rode Emperor 47 times, and I then rode it an additional 54 times earlier today for a grand total of 101. I now have the record for most rides on Emperor in one day (54) and the most rides overall (101)! Ask the ride operators next time you go there, Drew, they will tell you about the guy in the blue sweater with the Cleveland Indians hat that rode Emperor over 100 times in 2 days!

I personally found this ride very rough. I was sitting in the back on the wing seat so I don’t know if that’s why but other than that it was a great ride. Also at the bottom of the drop I got pinned and it really hurt my thighs. Definitely prefer valravn.

Can’t wait to ride, have not been to sea world for years, even though I only live 2 hours from it. I’m hoping to get there this year or early next year. Edit: looks like I will be going next week so pumped!!!!! edit again: I have ridden it great ride, something I have not heard talked about a lot is in the valleys in between elements, there are some pretty decent and fairly forceful positive Gs.

This ride seems so small for a dive coaster. I know San Diego has height restrictions, but it does seem a little lackluster compared to Sheikra and other dive coasters. And the lack of covers over the queue is pretty unforgiveable. SeaWorld did a much better job queue-wise with Ice Breaker and Iron Gwazi though even those pale in comparison to Manta in Orlando and Cobra's Curse at Busch Tampa. As for SeaWorld San Diego, it is still a great addition to that park.

I agree. But at the end of the day it is seaworld. So comparing it too a ride at Busch Gardens, which is made particularly for thrill and amusement rides is a bit unfair. But I do think it needs a little bit more as it’s super bare.

Why does SW SD keep ordering all of their rollercoasters in the same dull color? How about some white rails at least? I hope it looks better in person because Emperor has zero definition with that paint scheme.

That can’t choose a different color scheme due to keeping in line with the coastal commission. The coasters above 30 feet have to “blend into the sky”.

Whether you agree with it or not, multiple coasters are marketed as “dive coasters” in California, and in most peoples’ minds (aka non-enthusiasts) there is more than one dive coaster in CA. Regardless, it just more eye-catching to most of the public.
