Felicitaciones por el gran trabajo, había leído comentarios desastrosos de ese torno, que vibraba mucho y se paraba, también te leí que se rompe el soporte de gubia que por eso entiendo ahora el tuyo propio... Pero veo que también se pueden llegar a hacer cosillas con el, seguire atento a ver si sacas más trabajos y búscare más review, de momento tienes un nuevo seguidor por tu trabajo, me alegro de encontrar este canal.

Muchísimas gracias por tu comentario. En efecto, el soporte de la gubia se rompe con bastante facilidad, pero es fácil hacerse uno. El torno vibra bastante si se le coloca una pieza pesada, como cuando hice el cuenco (hay vídeo), aún así se dejó tornear. Si el torno se para, es debido a un exceso de presión con la gubia, ya que tiene la potencia que tiene, pero eso es algo típico en casi todos los tornos pequeños, incluso en tornos de 400€, ese punto no me supone ningún problema. Para aprender y ver si te gusta el mundo del torneado de la madera lo veo la mejor opción, teniendo en cuenta el precio que tiene, no se puede pedir más. Gracias por unirte amigo. Un saludo

Claro que me gusta. Más que eso, es un trabajo magnífico. Quisiera hacer dos preguntas: 1- Puedes decirme cómo has hecho el soporte donde se apoya la gubia. Yo tengo ese mismo torno y me parece que el soporte que trae de fábrica es de juguete. 2- Puedes decirme que tipo de resina utilizaste para hacer esa maravilla. Yo quisiera hacer algo parecido con la resina y viruta de madera que tengo del torno. Bueno muchas gracias.

Hola amigo, muchas gracias por tu comentario. 1- El soporte esta realizado soldando varillas de diferentes diámetros, es bastante sencillo, el único diámetro que habría que respetar es el de la varilla que entra en el soporte. This is the first lathe that I have and that I use, everything I have made of turning wood is in this channel. Yes, i bought this lathe on lidl. I could not remove the inner tube, so I left it. Thank you very much for your positive comment!

Perhaps yo could have wrapped the pipe in glad wrap. (Sarran wrap for you Americans) or sprayed it with mound release.

In my case I had to change it the third time I used it, but it depends on the use, to extend its life, I recommend you to move in the central part of the tool rest, and not on the edges.

Dude, how do you keep your your wood so nice? I live right next to a forest and I scored a few logs about the size of the one in the video from forestry trimmings. I glued the ends and stick them in the loft for a couple months and they're pretty fuckin' cracked up now. Should I just cut them as long as I can when harvesting, then salvage what I can once dry?

am I right in thinking that turning resin based projects would blunten the chisels quicker !? also I am currently looking at starting turning again for the first time in approx 35yr and just as a starting point I'm going to buy one of these parkside lathes next week so any suggestions helpful ideas etc gratefully received and also as doing it on a tight budget can you suggest a half decent set of starter chisels please Thank You

Hi. From my short experience, turning resin dulls the gouges quite quickly (nothing to worry about) If you buy this lathe, your tool holder will probably break, so you will have to make another one. If you buy a set of initiation gouges, I advise you to spend at least 40€ , to have a minimum of quality. Otherwise don't be in a hurry and work slowly with the lathe. I hope it serves you

Hola. Gracias por tu valoración. Para hacer mangos y alguna cosa mas yo creo que este torno es perfecto, pues es muy cómodo de mover debido a su bajo peso y, por supuesto, el precio que tiene. Debes tener en cuenta que el reposa gubias se te romperá antes o después, así que tienes que tener los medios para hacerte uno, de lo contrario el torno te quedará inservible. Espero haberte ayudado. Buenas! Me halagas llamándome maestro pero la verdad que no lo soy, tengo 33 años y llevo muy poco tiempo con el torno de madera, soy un aficionado y también un enamorado eso si! 😊. El tubo de pvc está rematado haciendo un poco de bisel, se puede hacer con gubia o con un raspador, y después de eso con un poco de lija. Muchas gracias por el interés en mis trabajos. Saludos
