That baby has been repaired and modded a bit! You gotta love an old faithful plane that always just flies good and puts a smile on your face. I think people like the full scale, but not at three times the price originally promised. It's a shame, they are really cool planes, but the price of a loaded Cirrus...I dunno. Nice flying man! Well until the last 3 seconds...she'll fly again!

Thanks man. So true. Good old foam. This one got the flap mod that was popular back in the day. My other Icon is stock, but I don't fly it as often. I fell hard for the big Icon in the early days. We were placeholder #1640 for nearly two years. After yet another price jump I got my deposit back. There's a guy further down the lake who owns 2. He built a training facility for them at his home, and Icon Aircraft held a big open house event there. But I think his other neighbors shut that down. The biggies are even louder than mine. Not that anything can compete with all the boats getting pushed around by an un-muffled big block. Tracking tells me something is out for delivery today. ☺Cheers!

How are you doing? I’ve been trying to figure out how to fly this plane. I have one and I can’t get the motor to turn on. Is there a special kind of sequence you do with the control like you do with a drone in advance hopefully, you can help me with this. I’ve been looking for videos all over the place. I can’t seem to find one.

Greetings. There is no special stick movement required. These haven't been sold for many years now. So you've got some sleuthing to do. Is the ESC arming? If the tones are happening, do you have another motor lying around to test? Waterproofing from the factory was minimal. A lot of ESCs got fried by water ingress. Good luck and let me know what you find.

@@RARenfield hey thank you for the response. Sorry I’m not on KZbin a whole lot and I didn’t check my notifications. I did find to figure it out. It’s the ESC only problem. I’m having now is I bought a new one and when I turn on the remote spins now the motor spins, and I have no control over the speed of the motor, I’m very new with airplanes and I have no idea what all the different trims are like. It will stop spitting if I put the button on that says throttle cut other than that it’ll just keep spinning. The ESC that I purchased is the same brand, but it is a 40 amp instead of a 30 amp programmable have no idea how to program it. the brand is e-flight

@@JosePerez-cu1yn Hi buddy. First and foremost, the Icon A5 is not the easiest model to fly and most definitely not a good choice as a first fixed wing. There's lots of good info online about basic setup and sorting the programming from folks who know a lot more than me. Are you anywhere near an R/C field where you can lean on other pilots? A more experienced pilot can help make sure that you are set up for success. When I transitioned to fixed wing from helicopters, I destroyed my first Icon A5 on maiden. Then I bought another Icon A5 and left it in the box until I had mastered a very forgiving beginner model. At the time, that was the Super Cub LP. Lots of good trainers out there for not a lot of money. I don't know where you are, but there are club fields all over the place with some nice helpful people. These Icons are getting scarce.
