There were no kick outs though, they obviously had not worked out the drama of the close falls, with falls being counted super fast with no drama and only attempted when successful

You should check out Mark Rocco. He is one of the most underrated wrestlers of all-time. He was big in England many years ago.

Wrestling was mainstream and HUGE in Britain. It was on Saturday afternoons on ITV and watched by the entire nation.
