How I Outfitted My 2024 25ft North River Fishing Boat

In this video I show you all the equipment that was installed to my new 2024 North River 25ft Hardtop fishing boat. Reel Custom Boat Works installed the equipment which includes Burnewiin rod holders, Garmin screens and autopilot, live bait tank, itroll, lights plus more. After we tour the boat we take it over to VeeJay Marine to get the bottom painted with Nasco Worldwide Hull Maxx clear coat.

Love the boat Chris. I have the same Garmin 1243xsv on my boat and I like how you can plan in advance on the active captain app on your phone at home before the trip. Waypoints and such will transfer over from the phone to the main screen on the boat when you connect them the day of the trip.

My Northriver is a 2007 I bought brand new. I just use Streak Master Aluminum Brightener on the non polished aluminum and Bargs polish on the polished areas once a year and the boat looks like new. Wax the white vinyl and paint once a year along with the motors also.

Mistake!! The polish I use is actually Gords, not Bargs. It is really good polish for aluminum and not too hard to apply...

First, congrats on the boat! It's beautiful! I have a comment on the bottom paint. The way these guys were talking, it doesn't seem like they have much experience painting aluminum paint. They talk about painting your boat like how they do fiberglass boats. I did some research on this clear coat and it seems like the only benefit is cosmetically, it looks better. It has zero anti-fouling chemical so algae will fall off (no green slime) but you'll still have growth and barnacles (pain in the butt to remove). It will also rub off over time. Also, paint won't stick to aluminum. With aluminum boats, normally you apply a 2-part epoxy layer before a paint coat. The epoxy is basically glue and it will stick to aluminum. Epoxy will protect against electrolysis and also give the paint something to stick to; and then the paint goes on to protect against growth. I'd be interested to see a follow up on the clear coat on how it holds up overtime considering it was applied as if it was a fiberglass boat (sand and paint).

Honest and Fair......How does that 250 outboard move that boat, I think that is a big as Honda goes, I usually see these with 300's on them.

Thank you for the review. North River makes a great boat. IMHO 25ft ideal, trailer-able, a day on the lake with friends, or a weekend on the river with family. Work (fishing), or pleasure (tubing/waterskiing)
