It's time for some rocking and rolling as we head out on a ship excursion to Stingray City in Grand Cayman! Join us as we tender ashore, then catch a bus to a boat so that we can visit our stingray friends... then it's time to do it all in reverse as we head back onboard for some live music, dinner at the included Cosmopolitan dining room, a new show called "Smoke & Ivories" in The Club, and more merriment!! :D

This is by far the best excursion in Grand Cayman. I went to Stingray City back in the mid nineties before all of these other boat excursions started the same. Only one boat out to the sand bar so it was great. Unforgettable experience.

In 1979 I got my diving certificate there. AWESOME! We were the only ones at stingray city! It wasn’t a huge tourist trap like it is now… 😢

I'm glad I didn't do the tour, I knew it would be quite crowded. I can recommend having a wonderful lunch at Tillie's in Grand Cayman. No crowds, good food, wonderful beach...

We snorkeled with The stingrays!! Disposable underwater camera from back 26 years ago. And it was so calm it was like standing in a swimming pool!!

Imagine visiting Grand Cayman in 1979! I got my diving certification there. Visability under water was amazing! Stingray city was there, but only us. No huge tours. Georgetown was so nice and the people are so friendly. Absolutely gorgeous place to go. Oh, and when you’re there go to Hell!!!!

We did the Stingray City excursion on our very first cruise in 2004. It was fantastic and there were only 2 boats there and they were spaced out good. On our last trip to Grand Cayman, it was QUITE hot and the line for the tenders to get back to the ship were incredibly long. It was late May. I saw many, many elderly people suffering in the heat and it was alarming that they didn’t have water available, or benches. Grand Cayman really needs to do something to make it more comfortable for people waiting for tenders when it’s 90+ degrees out.

Love seeing stingrays, however the feeding them I personally have a problem with that, seeing how many boats are out there on a given day. The truely wild experience of seeing them or not is being loat in this way. It looks like you both enjoyed your day. It also explains why people seem to expect to always see wildlife ' on demand' in other places where do not feed animals to atteact them.

We did Stingray City way back in 2009 on a private jet ski excursion with Fat Fish Adventures. Our ship was late that day, but they still managed to take us on an amazing adventure. Highly recommend!

I agree with Dee, I prefer booking excursions myself, instead of paying more for a shore excursion and going with a large group. I love Stingray City. It's great with a small group... especially off of a Celebrity ship, which has been my favorite cruise line. I remember that Horizon was my first experience being handed a chilled towel while in line to return to ship! Rock on you two!!

We did a very similar excursion in Belize on our first cruise, and it was an almost exact experience. Too many people and chaotic. But it was the first time we had really snorkeled and fell in love with it. And the stingrays were amazing! We also had nurse sharks around us, as well. All in all it was a cool experience, but, like y'all, not sure we would do the same excursion again. :)

We did this excursion, loved swimming and the stingrays. But the boat was way too crowded. There really wasn’t room for everyone to be seated, very cramped…

The stingrays were huge and quite intimidating. Took a lot of coaxing for me to go in the water and kiss one for good luck as they say.

We did the Sting Ray City excursion in 1990 from the Carnival Holiday. Long time ago. Would love to go back but most of our western cruises don’t include Grand Cayman. Too many boats now!

We did stingray city and starfish beach on jet skis and it was so good! I try never to book the cruise ship excursions because I don’t like the big crowds. Plus we often times luck out on the private excursions and usually it’s just our group of four or five with an occasional extra couple. So much better experience than the giant cruise ship tours and of course less expensive :-)

I loved Grand Cayman for snorkeling. We went on an excursion through Celebrity. We did not go to Stingray City.

It’s a royalty free music track called something like “Mermaid Dance” that we use from time to time, rather than the reggae tracks we usually use under snorkel footage to break up the water noise, ha ha… but we try to use them sparingly!! :P
