(He only wants her wealth.) Lady like manner of marvelous dignity - mentally slaps him down. Leaving him graveling, begging, and pounding on her front door.

Because of Carol Burnett’s parodies, I decided to watch some of the original movies, and one of them was Mildred Pierce. Once I seen Mildred pierce about 35 years ago, I fell in love with film noir and I have Carol Burnett to thank for it. Now I am a very big fan of film noir. I have even attended film noir festivals.

I may be answering this incorrectly---it's been a very long time since I saw an interview where someone asked Carol that very question---but if I remember, she said most of them were sold for very good prices and the money donated to women's shelters. None were destroyed, I do know that.
