Does shooting females have the same consequences as shooting a female deer would? Because I seem to be having that problem

They shouldn’t, are you having issues getting ducks to respawn? If that’s the case you will want to take out the entire flock so that a new flock with spawn in its place. But no shooting female ducks should not act the same way as female deer.
