For those unfamiliar with the Blue Mountains, here are the stations.....and other bits of information. X = Not stopped at. 2:10 Westmead X 3:02 Wentworthville X 3:55 Pendle Hill X 4:48 Toongabbie X 5:59 Seven Hills X 7:46 Blacktown (first stop after leaving Parramatta). 11:03 Doonside X 12:15 Rooty Hill X 13:33 Mount Druitt X 15:48 St. Marys X 16:49 Werrington X 18:49 Kingswood X 20:31 Penrith (Second stop after leaving Parramatta and last suburban station). 22:50 Nepean River, which used to mark the boundary between suburban Sydney and the Blue Mts. I don't know if that is still the case. 23:36 Emu Plains 28:16 Crossing the Great Western Highway 29:39 Lapstone X (Back in my day, Lapstone was always considered to be the first of the Blue Mts. stations. Emu Plains was always thought of as a Penrith suburb). 30:20 Glenbrook Gorge, on the left. 32:42 Glenbrook 36:22 Under the Great Western Highway 37:36 Blaxland 41:08 Warrimoo X 44:01 Valley Heights X 44:17 Rail museum on the left, which used to be the Valley Heights loco depot. 45:41 Overpass to Hawkesbury Road, which runs down to Richmond and Windsor, on the Nepean River. 46:22 Springwood 50:38 Faulconbridge X 53:26 Under the Great Western Highway again. 54:17 Linden X 56:00 Yet again the line ducks under the GWH. 57:13 Pacific National hauling grain. 57:49 Woodford X 1:00:54 Hazelbrook 1:03:13 Once again the highway crosses over the line. 1:04:20 Lawson X 1:05:56 Bullaburra X 1:08:18 The highway traffic (on the left) is climbing Boddington Hill, the steepest part of this section of the highway. 1:10:44 Wentworth Falls (Generally considered to be the start of the "upper Mountains", as it is about 300 metres higher than Lawson). 1:14:31 This time the highway passes under the line. 1:16:36 Leura 1:21:13 Katoomba I hope that you enjoyed the ride! :D

This is great! Very few of these sort of videos from Australia that I've seen - if there are going to be more, perhaps consider identifying the stations passed through for non-locals? Great stuff.

I would make one suggestion, and I consider it an important one. That is, you should identify the stations you pass through as well as those at which you stop. From Parramatta to Blacktown there were 4 unidentified stations, and from Blacktown to Penrith, a further 6 unidentified stations and we're only a bit under 21 minutes gone in this video.
@LavenderHaze3013 жыл бұрын
Can you film somewhere really long? Like Parramatta to Dubbo. Or Sydney Terminal to Brisbane (Roma Street). Or somewhere really long please?

A refreshingly boring but beautiful journey at the same time. Boring because you see the tracks, but beautiful mostly because it brought back memories of my first train journey to Katoomba as a 7 yr old in the 50's. I now live in SA, just north of Adelaide, so miss all the Sydney trains. Thanks to Transport for NSW. Great driver's eye view though, especially going from fog in the lowlands to sun in the mountains. Well done. Home you made a return journey version....lol. Was going to go back to Sydney, this year, 2021, but for bloody idiots starting the covid crap again.

Great Video! You really should put some captions for example station and suburb that we are passing. You could even caption the surrounding for example: - Parramatta Square (To your right) (0:00) - Westfields Parramatta (To your left) (0:00) - Future site of Parramatta pools (To your left) (1:15) - Parramatta Park (To your right) (1:50) (Location of the hot air balloons for Australia Day) - Westmead Station (2:10) (Future Connection of Parramatta light Rail & Health District) So on,

30.00 to 31.00 1976 Glenbrook accident had a fatality in the rear car of a westbound double deck interurban electric train when a westbound freight led by electric locomotive 4623 collided with the rear of the passenger train. The rear car of the passenger train was DCF.8004. It was rolled down an embankment and cut up on site, with the pieces being lifted by RAAF Chinook helicopter back to Elcar, Chullora. DCF.8004 became the first condemnation of a double deck interurban electric car.
