Do you have a playlist or something for someone who is just starting out?

+Harold Triplett My advice would be to check out Force Storm Ent. Then come back to this channel to get more into detail and learn more advanced move sets. There's also other people out there that explain things pretty well and sometimes things being explained differently but in a similar way helps.

Personally, I believe in the counter. I parry to set myself up for a counter and I try to avoid being in a position where I'm shelled into hard blocks. I never let someone T off my guard without retaliating. That said you could use a hard block to make such a shock that you stagger the opponents guard, but that's the exception in my mind.

+The Rateau Brothers I'm pretty sure thats the idea with all parries. If by "hard block" you mean receiving a blow without acting afterward, sure. But even that presents you with openings to exploit. DN

I'm not sure but I think you're confusing countering with a riposte. A counter would be "oh they're attacking, well I'm gonna attack too. Or dodge then attack". If you parry and strike, thats a riposte.

Where do you get your Lightsabers? I have a CrossGuard (Stunt Version, Lights Up, No Sound) from Ultrasabers.com. Are they a good site to get dueling sabers?

Alexandria Rowe I use ultrasabers for dueling I love the ones I have

Considering the lack of crossguards, what is the best way to parry while completely closing the line of attack to make a clean riposte? Among my more aggressive sparring partners, simultaneous hits are common, even after a successful block. Thanks.

+Spooky Tran Double hits are very common in sabering but we have found that if one concentrates most on controlling the weapon before making the attack, they become less frequent. DN

Hello! My group and I are currently working on a Star Wars fan film and while looking around I stumbled upon your lightsaber parries and blocks video. I was thinking that some of you guys could possibly record some stuff on two iphones which the program Move ai can turn into mocap info for our Unreal engine 5 project which would be used as a lightsaber fight. Would you guys be open to talking on discord or somewhere about working in some minor or major capacity on this project?

What i hate about kenjutsu is that they dont fucking teach basic blocks, parries, strikes. The basic shit. Apparently to them its fancy drills and techniques THAT DONT WORK UNLESS YOU KNOW THE BASIC CRAP

+Theodor Brekke "They," "them," and "their" can be used to refer to a single person of unidentified gender, if you didn't know. Learn English grammar rules before you go on the Internet to start grammar Nazi arguments. What are you even trying to accomplish by bitching at everyone? Anyway, awesome videos, TPLA. Keep up the awesome work. I just recently started binge-watching your lightsaber tutorials.
