Guys, lay off about the camera man/woman. Maybe it was his son or daughter who just wanted to help out their dad without being online. You notice in the video that the camera person doesn't want to be in the video, so mabye this isn't his normal camera man, a child who wanted to help out, or just a friend who was asked to do a favor.

HEY BOY! Did you register this deadly weapon with the FAA?
@joenodden8 жыл бұрын
That is not needed for most commercially bought drones...
@teru7978 жыл бұрын
joe nodden Anyone with any drone.... ANY... drone over 0.55 pounds is legally required to pay the fee to register their drone. Failure to do so is a federal felony... A felony of $250,000 and/or three years in prison. Seriously look this up this isn't the Onion or some satire thing... this is real. Technically in some states there is something called the fleeing felon rule. Meaning cops can shoot someone who is committing a felony if they are running away and legally get away with it. SO.... hypothetically, if you flew this drone in your back yard minding your own business. Police could, in theory, arrest you, and you could be sent to prison. And if you ran, in some states they can kill you.... for flying a toy drone... Idk why there is no public outrage over this. Well they did kind of sneak this into law without publicizing it. But this is why I sarcastically say comments in drone videos. To try to bring awareness.. and hopefully outrage... over this. Because it's BS. There are millions of drone owners, less then a million registered their drones. So there are millions of people committing federal felonies on a day to day basis.... so much for if you don't want to do the time then dont do the crime. Everyone is a criminal with our so called "land of the free" laws.

Upgrade that battery linus 12 min is not good enough for spying on people, also replace all the plastics mechanical parts with metal versions should be able to buy complete kits that replace the entire housing and the gears with quality light weight metal. lastly there is neat thing you can code up which will make it so as the drone falls if has enough distance it can start up again and correct itself then pulse the the blades near impact to reduce the fall speed which helps a heap when battery is flat. Some of the neat stuff I have seen with these drones is custom hull and charging dock so it can be programed to fly a circuit or with special Ai routines it can navigate outdoor obstacles on its own using the cams to detect them, when flat it will fly back to the base station dock charge up until a pre programed % then resume its patrol, with that style of mod you can install a 4G connectivity unit with android on it and you have a fully functional 60mins - 1h flight time device capable of sending you notifications when someone is in your yard or follow someone around and notify where they are its real neat. If I could afford this thing I would get one because it has so many cool uses.

With the outdoor hull though you get a ducting effect from the protection around the blades that gives them a lot better performance. So yeah you do have a bit more weight, but you don't get any side drag from the blades spinning.

Well for a start you can increase the brightness with the built in iOS, and you can double that brightness with apps. Couple that with the fact that normally when you're using it, you don't look at the screen, you look at the drone, then you see it's no problem at all.

I saw a comment or two calling him a bad pilot for having to move himself insteadof the drone, fly really slowly etc. Realize that he made a real effort to prevent the camerawoman from getting in to view (you can see her at 6:38 in the window reflection), so that's pretty much the reason for that I suppose. Note how they even blurred her out the few times the camera swooped past her. It's important to consider ones privacy around drones I suppose ;P

How high and far can you keep control over it? Any alert for battery about to die? What happens if battery runs out and your drone's just flying over a busy motorway? It just fall down and get smashed by passing-by trucks? Looks cool though, need to know range and how to determine battery status...

Thank you for this. I had wondered about the very matter of going over a roof-- that is, if the altitude is relative (it is) or absolute. So, now, I wonder what it would be like to hover it over steps. If you move slowly, will it climb and descend them as expected, maintaining a constant altitude above each subsequent step.
