When I was little, I saw a macaw in a pet shop. I said, "Look a parrot!" The store lady turns to me and yells, "That's not a parrot! It's a macaw!" 😆 lol She scared me and I didn't try to correct her. ....A macaw is parrot. ...It reminded me of that time.

I had a red head parrot when I was a child. He flew away when I was 10. Then I had another one and a few years later he flew away too. It was something that marked my childhood. We loved to see them fly a little bit, so we forgot to cut their feathers. Before having them, Polie was one of my favourite movie too watch. After that, it is always sad to watch that movie but beautiful at the same time, I cry a lot in that part. I never thought I could create such a bond with any bird. Now I am 19, but I always remember them. I dream that I found them until this days. I would like to have one again, but right now my life is not stable enough to give a new parrot all the love he/she would deserve. Just found out about your channel a few days ago, it brings me back to my childhood happy memories. Thanks for you dedication, I really appreciate your work guys. Love from Perú.

Spix's macaw (Cyanopsitta spixii), also known as the little blue macaw, is a macaw native to Brazil. It is a member of tribe Arini in the subfamily Arinae (Neotropical parrots), part of the family Psittacidae (the true parrots). It was first described by German naturalist Georg Marcgrave, when he was working in the State of Pernambuco, Brazil in 1638 and it is named for German naturalist Johann Baptist von Spix, who collected a specimen in 1819 on the bank of the Rio São Francisco in northeast Bahia in Brazil. The bird is a medium-size parrot weighing about 300 grams (11 oz), smaller than most of the large macaws. Its plumage is various shades of blue, with a grey-blue head, light blue underparts, and vivid blue upperparts. Males and females are almost identical in appearance, however the females are slightly smaller on average. Currently there are no known survivors of the species outside of captivity. (en wikipedia)

Hi, Marlene and Brando! Brando is so adorable! Look at how grown up she looks now! She is bigger with such beautiful feathers!!! This video was very interesting and fun to watch with you reacting to them! I loved the movie Polly and cried when I watched it too. I rented it a few years ago or more - maybe 15 years ago or more - and Baby, Beenie and I watched it together! It was the only good bird movie I ever saw. I can't remember what happened, but I think Polly was forced to leave the lady in it. The Monty Python clip was stupid. That was a fake Macaw. It was a stupid show made back in the 70's. My ex-boyfriend liked Monty Python. He always liked to smoke pot and watch Monty Python on Wednesday night I think at 7pm. I couldn't stand it LOL! Monty Python did another one with a skeleton of a parrot in a cage and it was suppose to be funny. I didn't get it either and didn't think it was funny. I can't stand birds being portrayed eating chocolate because in real life they would die from eating it!!! It's terrible of the movie industry to have birds eating toxic food even if they are cartoons. Love, big hugs, birdie kisses, Barb, Beenie, Baby spirit :)))

I’m a bird mama of 3, two budgies, 1 cockatiel all 3 rescues Pally is the movie that made me fall in love with birds when I was 9. My rainbow budgie just reached her one year adoption mark and my cockatiel just turned 15. He was abused and neglected. My other budgie is blind and was returned to the same pet store after being adopted 5 times I had a friend there and I felt soooo horrible my girl Omelet could use a friend so I picked him up that day I’ve had him almost a year as well. And from the moment I brought peep home he is the most loving budgie EVER loves to constantly be around you gives kisses. He is blind so he is treated a bit differently my girl Omelet never leaves his side, feeds him and when he has balance issues will cuddle up to him and he will sleep with her. I LOVE birds I hate silence and I love how they are always so happy and singing ❤

As far as Duplex, they might have done something to make the bird look as though it was "time-worn", as the owner said she'd had him for 40 years. They had the woman's place set up as though it was filled with "dusty old antiques", and they made her bird look like a dusty old antique, too. As most people don't know very much about Parrots, the audience would have expected her bird to be a dusty old antique, too! Just a thought. I loved Rio as a kid! The first time I saw it, I was so into it xd (probably more than the rest of my family) My dad told me his parents owned Cockatiels when he was young and my Nana owns an Amazon right now (I think-) My dads girlfriends sister owned a bird when she was younger... but my dads girlfriends dog ate him..... 😭😭 the bird was so well trained and him and his owner had a great relationship :,) (btw.. this was like 20 years ago, I wasn’t alive yet .3. ) Her dad used to own an African Grey and his girlfriend used to own a Sun Conure and they both now own 10 chickens and 2 ducks :D My friend owned 2 budgies (one of them was his little sisters bird) Sadly, his sister mistreated the poor bird (her name was Sunny) and she also was clipped and ended up pregnant from my friends bird, Blu.. they lived in a small, round cage for a few months and was on an all seed diet.. though Blu was very well trained by my friend, he didn’t live very long. So when Blu died, he got another budgie (I forgot his name) After they got the second male budgie, Sunny went missing.. we believe she got out and snuck out the door.... 😥 Fast forward to early 2020 (later 2019)- my best friend (a different person) and I got into birds so we did lots of research on birds (specifically budgies- though I do now know lots about lots of other parrot and parakeet species).. after a while of doing research, we both ask our parents for a bird and they both were like “Um, no. We aren’t having a bird in this house. Not now, not ever” pretty much xd. We were both so upset lol- But we still had names for the birds we were gonna get in the future xd- Hers was Shua (Joshua from Seventeen) and mine was Hoshi (Soonyoung/Hoshi from Seventeen)- So in August (ish) 2020, my friend gets a budgie and rubbed it in my face for so long lol (just like- sending pictures to me and always saying what she was doing) Then a few weeks later- she gets ANOTHER bird before I even get one ;-; (She named her Woozi (from Seventeen) ) Finally in March of 2021 (maybe February idk I forget xd), I get my bird :D I thought he was a she for like 2-3 months and when his cere turned blue I was kinda upset xd (I wanted a female bird for the longest time T^T) but I still love my boy! He’s so sweet and he may not think it, but I do my best to spoil my little rat xd I’m only (turning) 15 (in 2 months) whose unemployed and gets paid butt for chores, but I have so many plans for him. He’s in the biggest cage I could find at PetSmart (yes, that’s where I got him and I wish I went to a breeder but that’s just where we were and my dad doesn’t know how bad chain pet stores are, no matter how much I tell him) and I think it’s 48 in. tall, 36 in. wide (I’m bad with measurements, sorry lol)- the pet store said he only needs 2 toys and a perch so that’s all my dad got him even though I told him that 3 or 4 (maybe more) natural wood perches would fit and he needs like 5 toys in there (sadly, not all of it would fit- well it would but he wouldn’t be able to fly :c ) so yeah ;-; and he was on an all seed diet because my dad doesn’t wanna buy fruits and veggies for him every week, but he is now on pellets and dried fruits and veggies but he isn’t eating it because I got him at petsmart (I think that sums up the problems :/ Pet(not so)Smart ) but, I am getting him a flight cage and a big sisal rope net, lots of new toys and perches and I’ll get him a stand and make sure he loves the happiest budgie life ever! (To sum up his cage... 2 perches (would’ve been three but it broke.. :c ), 3 toys (and he has another one out of his cage I haven’t shown him *yet*), a swing (and another one outside of his cage by the window, which he loves- I usually give him a toy to play with too), then his food and water bowls ^^’ I personally absolutely hate it because I feel like he could just have so much more because he deserves so much more- but yeah.. there’s my story :D) (P.S.... Hoshi knows come, kiss, and turn around. My friends bird, Woozi, can talk :D she says “Pretty bird” “Whose a preeeettttyyyyy bird” “You’re/whose a good bird” I’m working on getting him to talk :D )

There were so many things wrong with that scene there was really no place to begin. The point of the sketch was never really about the bird, but just look at how much of a gag this bird was made out to be. He could've just said it was a b&g Macaw, not a "Norwegian blue"(that's not a real thing) showing the name of birds is irrelevant. That bird was in the tiniest cage imaginable, and the fact that they went on and on about it's death promotes that birds are just expendable things. Something that was said during this shoot stuck with me: In film, the audience can forgive human death, but the audience will not forgive an animal death. The moment the man walked in with that parrot, they totally lost me. Monty Python is one of those "untouchable classics", making it just that much sadder that it'll always be excused with "it's just a joke". Birds can be funny without people making them the butt of a joke. Filmmakers should be encouraged to learn more about their natural behaviors and embrace that a true authentic bird is much funnier than fiction.

So glad you did this! Yes please do more of these. And I think you’re right. There’s some old episodes of Disney shows where they cast birds, maybe Ant Farm was one of them. But yeah some birds love that kind of work, but also I would like to see Hollywood casting these the way you say, & paying attention to their health, I’ve seen birds with not the best feathers but I also try not to judge cuz maybe that bird loves it... although it does make you wonder if the bird cast is happy in that environment. There needs to be more pet talent agencies so there’s more choices for animal talent and with animals trained properly & who enjoy it. I think Tupeck the Rapping Parrot would enjoy some of that but it’s also hard to say till your bird is there. He definitely enjoys making videos & “talking to his peeps” & seems to have a concept of stardom & that he wants that. But like with child actors you cannot expect them to know how to handle that life or the downsides to it either. That’s why we chose to start his journey on KZbin cuz he kept begging for a rap career & I knew he had talent & people seemed to love him, but I knew he needed to learn more skills, learn about being on set & redoing scenes, & all those little things. He seems to thrive in that environment here where it’s a fun hobby, but I do plan to be cautious if we ever get any offers. And usually those sorts of projects would require additional training of skills depending. So this is a good topic for PetTubers to discuss together so yay for doing that!

Soon as I saw Brando I had to get my MP Banksy on my shoulder to watch this with me. He talked in my ear the whole time. 🙄

There’s a scene in I, Tanya, where Tanya Harding’s mom has a parrot on her shoulder the entire time she’s talking. It’s actually completely taken from a real interview. You should watch that one next time!

@@pwnytail I'm sure 😂😂😂 all birds are divas to some degree! My boyfriend calls my lovebird "the little king" or "the little tyrant" depending on how he's behaving!
