Highly recommend a Kakariki!! An underrated species with the cutest voices and funniest personalities! I just adopted a mostly blind Golden conure. her owner loved her, but was unable to communicate with her, and was just freaking her out. Luckily I already have experience with caring for a blind bird, so I'm just glad to have the opportunity to own one of these birds 😁

What is the Kakariki like in comparison to the Golden?
@GraceT3 жыл бұрын
@@ParrotBliss very different! Kakariki are more cat-like, in that they're not clingy, and prefer you not pet them on the head, although they're super smart and food motivated, so training them to sit still when you pet their heads, is possible, it's just kind of a known species trait. They're still affectionate though, but prefer to be the one grooming you, instead of you grooming them. They aren't known to be aggressive with other birds and don't need to be in pairs, when hand raised. They more prefer the company of people, and sort of tolerate other birds. Mine likes to study them, like a science experiment. 😆

I've read good things about Vasa parrots. They are playful and smart at the same time. Not a common parrot in aviculture. Their mating ways are particular for parrots.

Hello Madelline, I've created several videos on Cape Parrots, they are one of my favorites. They cost around $4,000 to $6,000 US at this time. If you do a search on "Parrot Bliss Cape Parrot" then you will find 10+ videos of my Capes so you can see their colors too :)

@ParrotBliss3 жыл бұрын
We try to keep our parrots flying, only clip when there is an absolute necessity or their bothering other birds. No one's allowed to bully anyone else! We currently have over 12 species of parrots, but it is very difficult to get them all in one video.

There's a reason why hyacinth mcaws are expensive. It's because the pet trade has decimated their numbers. If you love parrots and don't want them going extinct you shouldn't get one.
@ParrotBliss2 жыл бұрын
You do know what they cost, right? I would love to have one - but I’d have to have land for a real aviary for a Hyacynth. We feel that our space for the Macaws works, but we don’t feel another could be added without increasing the space. And, if you know me, I wouldn’t be happy with only one; I strongly feel they need another of their species to bond with in addition to us.
@stevebismarck5878 Жыл бұрын
The primary threat to the continued viability of hyacinth macaw populations is loss of habitat due to relentless conversion of Brazilian sub-Amazonian forest to oil-palm plantations, By 2100 the only hyacinths that will left will be those preserved by aviculture. If you love parrots don't eat processed foods containing palm oil.
