Factor that make KH2 stylish And the factor that were missing in KH3
@keybladewar223 ай бұрын
I been saying this for a while that KH3 took away the risk reward when it came to that mechanic. You can still do that in KH3 but it's not as fun & sometimes parrying in KH3 will work against the player & get them killed for trying to play more risky. I can't even restrict myself in KH3 data fight as much like KH2s data fight because there are rules in place that prevent the player from exploring the mechanic full potential whereas KH2 there are no rules except timing your attack well & you have will a fun time once you learn them. I seriously want this back in KH4. Having invincibility frames & parry frames felt safe & satisfying when done well while KH3 says don't play risky but instead just play the game vanilla.

It's not just invincibility, it's recovery time You can cancel the parry recoil animation about halfway through in KH 2, just like KH 1's quick recoil, and just like KH 1, quick recoil doesn't reset your combo In KH BBS, DDD, 0.2, and KH 3, manual parries have a long stagger animation that has zero invincibility, and cannot be cancelled out of like in 1 and 2 If KH 3 bosses like Yozora didn't just stand still for 3 seconds after a parry, you'd never be able to catch any openings, and would probably just get hit
@keybladewar223 ай бұрын
@@reddodeado True Yozora does stand still after a parry for a while but most attacks bosses do that can be parried, they usually only have one of those attacks that can be parried or stopped before they attack like Yozora attack he does where he is off screen for a few second before he reappears to use his move that can be stopped with thunder or simply flash stepping before he fully shows up with his sneak attack. Or this other parry that can only be done when you aerial sweep Larxene data when she is about to drop down with a none elemental attack which aerial sweep stops & leave her open. It's cool that some parries are still there but not by much because more of the attack these bosses do in KH3 have to big of an aoe or are not meant to be challenged in a risky way like KH2s boss counterpart

@@keybladewar22 I do agree that parrying in KH2 is much more fun, but I disagree with the take of the risk reward for parry in KH3. If you talking about the parry mechanics before you get the counters then you are right, but if we're talking about with the counters than your wrong. The parry mechanic is basically a block and with counter attacks immediately counter with I I-frames. If you parry an Attack and immediately counter you have multiple ways to deal with it, for example if your opponent throws out a b lockable string of fast attacks you can parry, (which has 360 degree block because it's the regular block),tap the attack button to block and immediately counter attacks again and in most situations do this through their Whole combo string. You have multiple option you can use depending on the combo string and you can even double your I-frames withe a parry, counter, and the dodge roll. Parrying is actually safer on KH3 if you know how to manipulate the mechanics around it, it is also works well on every boss as well if you know how to use it. Overall KH2 parry mechanic is more Fun, KH3 parry mechanic is more optimal.

@@keenanjackson2668 I know what you mean about the counters. Yeah, they are fine depending on what situation you happen to use those counterattacks. But what I was talking about is if the player wanted to restrict the fights & wanted to do a normal attack & hope to get a block from it, the player will get hurt. A great example of this is when I tried to no ability data Marluxia. I went for a normal overhead attack to clash into his combo attack which did have the parry sound but was killed because the game doesn't let that work unless the block is equipped. I could be wrong about that. Now if I try that same trick on a fight in KH2 without a guard on, I will get the guard parry even if it's not on. That is what I mean by risk-reward when the game lets you handicap a play style for more replayability. When I try that in KH3, it feels like the game is holding Sora back from doing things the risky way. And pro codes to me are their way of making the game harder because each fight has some rules that must be followed since each fight is required to have dodge roll & block whereas KH2 the game doesn't require the player to have either skill on to survive but instead quick wit to get by which add more replayability & challenge to the fight.
