Thanks for you comments. As you say this is rhythmically demanding for the singers who assume the 2 verses are the same. My solution pull out a few more stops and take no prisoners!

Very Nice Johnathan - just a shame that it's not on HD! :)

The difficulty I always have with this (usually at funerals) is that everyone thinks they know it. Apart from the trap at the beginning of the second verse, the two verses really are quite different. My big problem though is trying to get the congregation to come in at the right moment - my ploy is to lift my hands and feet rather obviously and then plonk them firmly on the first sung note, any better ideas are most welcome! Thanks for sharing this with us Jonathan, excellent.

May I ask how the organ was recorded? Was it recorded from mics in the room or direct through the line signal on the organ?
@ViscountOrgans5 жыл бұрын
It was mics in the room. You can read about the set up in this blog post. viscountorgans.net/behind-the-scenes-our-2015-digital-organ-playing-video-tutorial-pieces/ Regards David

The harmonies are so beautiful, but i'm mystified why it doesn't develop to a hire octave at least somewhere in the performance. I'm missing something glorious.

I prefer to purchase my octaves outright
