It's called the Tower of Silence (doongerwadi) ... bodies of our dead become food for the vultures; however, now there is a serious disease threatening those vultures. There is a long-running debate on whether to install solar panels to help with the decomposition of bodies, but most Orthodox Parsees do not like the idea at all.

People in the west do not know that Freddy Mercury was Parsi. HOwever he was born in Zanzibar and then the family finally moved to India then the UK. Parsi's did not have to give up their own tradition, culture and religion in order to live in India. They were accepted with grace and were told not to slaughter animals (first thing, esp. cows). What they did was merge some of their culture into Indian culture and adapted their new Indian way of life. They learnt Gujrati/Hindi and were great philanthropists. Rattan Tata and the founder of Tata group of companies (1868) Jamshedji Tata are good examples. There was a good sized Parsi community living in Karachi, Pakistan, and there too, contributed greatly to the development of the city.

Another engrossing vlog Karl. Keep the good work going. I loved it when towards the end of the video Manu showed her optimism when you urged people to go and taste Parsi food before it's gone. I'm confident that resilient, intelligent and industrious Parsis are going to be here for ever.

Well, Parsis have Iranian/Persian ancestry. Their ancestors came to India after the Muslim conquest of Persia more than thousand years ago. Some Parsis(including famous Bollywood celebrities) have last names as Irani.

If you want great Parsi food, you should also visit Udvada in Gujarat. It's the holy site for all Parsis and Zoroastrians in 🇮🇳, 🇮🇷 and the world over. Go meet my cousin Zenobia @Globe Hotel.

Are indian zorastrian parsi people allowed to come back in Iran by Islamic fundamentalists government of Iran? Do current iranians still respect Iranians who had fled Iran from islamic persecution?

curfew = videos every day :)?. Awesome video as allways! and offtopic : the aerocity crew came home safely :) but the whole operation took arround 30 hours, and it was pure chaos. delhi is a ghosttown:) indian police had to escort arround 10 buses of 500 germans into the airport at night :D

This looks so yummy!! We should apply the same rule in my country: If you come to us, you have to integrate!
@apurvshukla91664 жыл бұрын
The difference is India does not force or apply a rule. It's their choice to integrate.
