Replaced the condenser on my 2012 Dodge Durango last week. Watching your video made it a lot easier! It took me about 2 hrs to replace the condenser (without charging the system). Thanks David / MotorCity Mechanic ! Keep up the great videos!

Same here, I'm not working right now. Kids are doing distance learning due to covid-19 restrictions. Took our 7 year old Durango to the dealership for something else, and were advised of the trans fluid leaking from the condenser. It was a $1,500 repair. I dont have that or anything close. Just put tires on and that wiped me out. Searched for this video and ordered the part for less than $100. Thanks for keeping us on the road!

What was wrong with yours? Is there high pressures? Mines making a hissing sound. Could it be clogged?

Very helpful with the video. Quick question any ideas why my transmission is over heating? Changed filter and new fluid and still heats up.

There is one with just lifting it out without taking the front off.

There is always more then one way to skin a cat. Some methods are faster and it also depends on what your comfortable with. Personally it only takes about 15 minutes....even less to remove the front bumper cover and then you have lots of access. The choice is yours. Thanks for bringing up and for watching. I have a 2014 Durango Citadel 5.7 hemi. Seems like the a/c is weak especially in high temps (90 plus). It was 96 today and I had low side pressure of 44psi and high side of 255 psi readings at steady state 1500 rpm. Center vent temp was 60. Do you think I'm looking at a parts issue or is this typical performance of the Durango a/c in high temps? Thanks

your readings tell me that your low in freon oc chrysler master tech

Do you have to add oil for the compressor when you recharge the system with Freon after this fix?

the condensor on this caravan comes out through the bottom or you need to take off the front facia

So if I already don't have freon because it's leaking I don't have to take it to a shop ?
@MotorCityMechanic4 жыл бұрын
You need to make sure its completely empty to make sure no damage happens when lines taken off. Otherwise if its empty and your sure...no need to go there until the repair is made and your ready for freon to be put back in. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

do you have to do this to remove the radiator?
@MotorCityMechanic7 жыл бұрын
Whats mainly needed is to get the upper radiator support off so that you can get access to the radiator. Sometimes you have enough room to pull the upper portion of the grill forward enough so that you can get to the fasteners along the front that are covered up. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe
