Performed this repair and the screw works great. Main issue is that that is the easy part. The hard part is re-tensioning the cable around the motor and putting it all back together. Took us a few hours to figure out that part, so next time this happens to me I’ll probably be buying a replacement for $50 instead. Found some on Amazon open box for $30. Just make sure you buy the correct side!

True I still haven't had any more issues with it its work till this day but yeah if the wire gets all tangle is a 50 chance it might not work well but a have made them work even all tangle.

Its awesome . Ty I never noticed the hole to hold the clip. I bought new ones but will be using the screw to re enforce the ciips

You don’t have to remove the whole unit at all. Just remove the two 10mm screws on the right side and slide the arm out…..

I am thinking the plastic break off as safety feature when the motor or other mis-behave situation.

Or so people are forced to keep paying to replace the entire regulator. Chevy charged me $400 for my other window just 6 months ago, and I'm happy to try a cheaper option.

What kind of shops do I go to to get my window fixed. It won’t go up

Any shop that does Geneeal repair and if in California/Nevada, AAA auto repair has open shops that can do the repairs

Not a bad idea, unfortunately once the cable wraps around the drive pulley and knots up/kinks up, i would much rather buy a new one. Once that cable gets all twisted, it just doesn't work the same after that.
