We had to remove the 62TE transmission, replace the torque converter, check for leaks and maybe a Rear Main seal. Also performing electrical troubleshooting of the solenoid pack.

Dorman makes a replacement pan with a drain plug. I have that on our family fleet of Caravan's. Changing the fluid every 30K miles, and then replacing the filter and fluid every 60K miles. That's the key to keeping these transmissions on the road forever. I have 2012 - 2020 in the family (15 Caravans in Total) Haven't replaced a transmission yet and the highest mileage one is approaching 300K miles already.

Did the same to both our vans, makes it so much easier to maintain them.

I'm looking at a used 2014 Caravan with about 60K right now. I wanted an Odyssey but dam you'll be paying more for twice the mileage. Comments like yours are getting me closer to pulling the trigger.

Those oil filter housings leak and run down the intake valley and puddle on the trans case. They make an aftermarket filter housing that corrects this defect.

If you see oil leaking from the top of the engine down to the top of the trans.......it could very well be the engine oil cooler is leaking. It drips down and makes a mess.

I have this same issue debating on replacing the whole trans mission or just the converter and solenoid is it still going well?

I found out afterward that the pump went bad which is what damaged the converter. You can certainly do what I did,but I would inspect the pump while it is out. Apparently that is a common cause of the converter issue.

I just fixed mines with just the TCC solenoid and some lucas and mopar fluids from the dealership. Definitely a job you can do yourself if your broke enough. Two shops told me i needed a new or remanufactured transmission. Basically tried to rob me out of 4,500- 5,000. There is fluid on both sides of the 62te so when you go for the solenoid on the the top plenty of fluid will come out. Please try the solenoid first before changing the transmission. a fair price for this service is $300.00- 400.00 if you have the parts. A fair mobile mechanic should be able to hook you up for less than $150.00

@@kwsgarage9609 Which pump went bad ? I’ve had a failing coolant pump ( comes on error code in winter but not in summer - valve is stuck open )

How is the vehicle running now? I've heard the transmission still going out after replacing this solenoid. I'd assume because the torque converter and the solenoid were replaced, all is still well.
