I personally clip my SPG onto either my right chest D-Ring or crotch strap D-Ring depending if I'm diving in more enclosed space, or more a more open dive site. For both positions, I can just look down and see how much gas I have left, no unclipping needed.

I just invested in a Teric and Swift transmitter, but I'm going to use my Oceanic ProPlus X as my backup computer.

Hi Bob! Greetings from Argentina. Great video. It let me thinking about how many kinds of equipment configurations we have in the market. Particularly I prefer just a pressure gauge or something more complex like pressure gauge plus integrated computer or just computer.

Hello Jeronimo, Thanks for your note and yes it's so amazing how we divers today are blessed with the wide selection of gear configurations. Kinda funny how I see divers start simple, then go to very complicated setups. While others go in the reverse direction of having very complex units and trimming down to nice but simple setups. Thanks for comments and my best to Argentina ! Bob C

I have a 6 year old ScubaPro computer console with a compass on top, dive computer in the center with a pressure gauge on the bottom. My question is the computer screen the little battery symbol keeps flashing. Does that mean “battery replacement or battery is full “
@DiversSupplyYT Жыл бұрын
Hello Jack, it's very likely it's saying time to replace the battery. Be careful doing this as that 0-ring and re-sealing the cover can be tricky. Always replace the o-ring and if possible pay the $15 to have a shop do the replacement and make sure they guarantee their work. Regards, Bob C

I keep my console clipped off on my left chest d ring however the clip is attached to the hose and situated in such a fashon that the console sits near my chest and is still free to look at but doesn't dangle.

This is a good technique too Kevin. What some folks do and I 'm not personally fond of is they clip on the right chest side D-ring. Maybe not realizing they'll just added another chest closure folks may not be aware of in a stressful situation. Thanks for the comment.. Bob C

My wrist dive computer shows all this information including remote air pressure so I don't really need one of these. I have been using one but it's just another hose and something more on my BC so I am getting rid of it.

Hey Larry ! Yes, I hear this comment from various divers. So I have a couple questions for you. *First,* Does that hose bother you, does it cause a drag on your swimming ability, is it heavy and make you lean to your left ? Are you diving into wrecks and may get snagged on it ? *Second* , when you do realize your Transmitter battery died or you've lost connection for some unknown reason will you be able to see how much air you "do have" for your ascent to the surface ? _Ask yourself these questions perhaps before deciding to remove your console._ There are those things on our BCD we don't normally use, but do come in handy in a pinch. Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. Bob C

@@DiversSupplyYT Thanks Bob. I do dive into wrecks but have not snagged that hose. I am just thinking of removing it but I might just buy a lighter one. Mine is kind of old. Thanks for taking the time to respond as I respect your opinion.

@@LarryRichelli Now that's a good idea. Maybe 32" HP hose and single 1.5" SPG and clip it off just under your left arm kinda snugged up. There if you needed it and out of the way majority of the time. My pleasure, always enjoy visiting with folks about all levels of diving. Bob C

Hi Bob, thank you for making these interesting videos, particularly on BCDs, regulators and tanks. After a several year streak of dive holidays in tropical locations with rental gear, we are in the processes of getting our own, and gearing up over at Europe. This video came a bit late, just last week we decided to get simpel consoles with pressure meters from a brand manufacturer (suunto) with a thick rubber case opposed to no-name gages, which looked kind of fragile. The local shop advised us to go simple over too much or too complex. (in case you wonder on the other things: 2x ScubaPro MK17 Evo/G260 for its 2 HP ports and good serviceability (over Apeks). Xdeep Zen Deluxe (advise for double wall bladder over the Ghost), and Aqualung Soul (my wife loves jackets). For the tanks I am still undecided between classic 12L steel long, 12L steel short wide, 15L steel, or 12L 300 Bar. Conclusion: 300 bar is not very favourable when we ever go in cold conditions, but it saves the lead on your waist. I tend to go for a standard 12L being good for 98% of the cases, but me being a big air guzzling guy, always the first out of the water, tend to want a larger capacity tank. I also love the video on the redundant air source. Later a 7mm semi suit and icevest will be following later for cold water, maybe ScubaPro Nova Scotia. We already have thinner ScubaPro suits, fins without shoes, googles, dive computers with depth meters and air sensors.) Thanks again for these wonderful videos.

Veluwe, Thank you for taking time to write your note. Much appreciated. I'll first say looks like your shop/sales advisor has a good background to make those suggestions. The Mk15-G-260 has always been one of my favorites. Don't think hardly anyone would bad mouth the X-Deep choice either. Your wife's AL Soul is such a wonderful BCD I must say one of my very favorite ladies BCDs. The wetsuit/semi-dry/drysuit decisions are very very subjective, especially with where you live & dive and product availability in today's supply chain. Colder water means thicker suits so steel tanks can be a true advantage. The 12L/100cft steel tanks tend to be the most popular among the recreational bunch. The wife could dive the 10L/80cft compact, which may help if she is not a tall lady. Consider if she ends her dive with say 35-50 bar that's about where you should be OR slightly more, let's say 65 bar that makes sense. If you're coming up with 100+bar then you're wasting money buying bigger just to spend $$/Euro/??. Just my few thoughts on your thoughts and thanks for the compliment on the Redundant Air Source Vid. Dive safe ! Regards Bob C
