Absolutely. Six years isn’t even six years, she’ll be out after three. If she was truly sorry she would have pled guilty, not no contest. If there was clear evidence, it should have gone to trial. This sentence is a cruel joke, in which the victim’s life was worth so little. DUIs aren’t taken seriously enough, and it pisses me off. I’m fed up and want to see changes.

@markiss95420 күн бұрын
@Mommapunkin wrong on several accounts. 1 not a loner just a realist. 2 lost many which is why I'm a realistic. 3 this case was about a manslaughter/ negligent death. For lack of a better word an accident or unintentional. Do as I said the defendant should feel guilt and remorse but yes their life will and should move on from that moment in time. Nothing will bring the deceased back and relishing in someone's misery over an accident regardless of how severe is twisted. Forgiveness is less heavy
@markiss95420 күн бұрын
@kellyflanagan3537 definitely not looking for anybodies reaction. We are speaking on a death that was caused unintentionally. Not murder! So yes the defendant should feel their remorse and obvious regret of what happened but yes at some point should feel free to desire to move on as life is for the living.

One of the first things in AA or NA is to take responsibility for your actions. There is no way that she 'actively participates' in those meetings and 'forgetting' that she wasn't supposed to drive. If she is doing so well, why not bring her sponsor to testify?
@brentfarvors19221 күн бұрын
Except, she didn't know she wasn't supposed to drive...The only stipulation was an interlock device, and that was simply confused for the personal scram tether...Which, she had been using religiously, every time it indicated. This was straight BS! Simply a case of Boyd not liking her original conditions, and looki g for any excuse to revoke her bond...They set her up, and she walked right in the trap, because she didn't know she wasn't supposed to be driving without the interlock, since she already had a scram tether...

That's the normal term for someone who committed vehicular homicide (or intoxication manslaughter, or similar charges related to killing someone while driving drunk). I guess because it's not actually premeditated and intentional so that's probably why the charges aren't so steep on these types of murders.
