UPDATE: Looks like DMP just started shipping out a newer, better version of the kit. If you are plugging into the OBD and it’s not working, it’s because the new kit has to be attached to the door side mirror control. That’s how the light for the new kit is controlled to test the light. If you have questions, please contact DMP for support.

@@alexxcccc To confirm what you have, simply do a quick removal of your center console and see if the 2 plastic fiber tubes are installed. If you don't see them then your vehicle does not have ambient lighting.

Ahhhh...Thank you for pinning this to the top. My kit came with BOTH OBD and side mirror wire harnesses. I was doing a lot of head scratching but I figured it out once I read this. I will not be using the OBD connector (which is good. I don't like messing with that port)

Just installed mine after gettting the kit in February. After putting it off and then doing the console only months ago, I decided to do the doors today. I was defeated when i couldn’t get it to work dmp to the rescue walked me through coding it! Then boom the entire car lit up 🔥 this kit looks insane videos and pics don’t do it justice! Flexx, I have a question. DMP just told me that the door panel light strip is only available for 4 doors and not for my coupe. The coupe panel trim is a lot shorter vs. the 4 door so do you think I can cut the light strip to make it fit? What is your recommendation? Buttons work the same. If you disconnect the OBD2, the entire kit won’t power on. Remember, you don’t really need to disconnect the OB2 connector because the main harness comes with a second OB2 connector if you ever wanna plug in like a code reader or something else. I’m not sure what you mean by app since these lights aren only controlled by the steering wheel buttons. There’s no app to my knowledge.

I got a 2015 in February. Only issue I’ve had is I had to replace both batteries. The dealership told me they were the original batteries for the car. So them lasting 5 years is pretty good. Other then that nothing. Well gas mileage has only been about 23 on average. And man I’ve been modding this car so easy. It definitely is easy to take the looks to the next level.

Idk about anyone else, but DMP helped me out and for my car I had to be sent a coding OBD plug and a different main harness and when it arrived, DMP walked me through the process via WeChat and WhatsApp of unlocking the factory ambient lighting menu and that is how I am now able to control all of my lights. Hope this helps

On the website, it has the 3/12 color ambient light upgrade that can be controlled by the original console. Is this for any w205 and will it require some sort of unlocking to make it work with original console or should we stick to the 64 ambient light like yours? Seems like the prices doesn't change with any of those options.

So I'm having a bit of an issue with this product. I did as you did by testing the footwell lights and nothing turned on. Check and replaced the OBD2 fuse which looked fine, tested for continuity between the OBD2 harness and lights and it does exist, tested the lights using ground and 5v and they do turn on. My issue now being that it hasn't ever turned on when I plug it into the OBD2 port.

Hi Flexx, have you looked at changing the lighting around the seat adjustment in the door panels, the steering wheel button illumination and lighting in the panels above the driver's head please? In my 2017 C43 they're a horrible yellow colour and I'd love to change them, just can't find a kit out there to do it. Thanks

The new kits DMP is selling is control by the side mirror control. They might have a kit you can control using the head unit but you need to ask them.

Will this work in a 2017 AMG C63S? I already have the ambient lighting that came with the car but it only has 3 colors, not 64 colors like the ambient lighting that comes in the 2019+ AMG c63 models

I have a 2015 c63s with ambient lighting integrated, but want to make it brighter and potentially add the amg dash piece. Would this be a lot brighter? And do you think it will integrate with the stock lighting unit control? Let me know please brother!

You would need to ask DMP. I don’t know what the OEM looks like and what can be done with it.

Thanks for step by step instruciton man it's really cool. so after watching your vidoe, I went ahead and bought and received ambient light kit for my glc (which shares same interior with w205) but DMP actually sent me different version (they say its newer version). It doesnt have OBD port but I have to tap the wires to ACC to get power for center console ambient and footwell light. Can you a make video for it? or tell me how its done? like where to find acc and stuff. Looks like DMP cant really help on that. im just not familiar with wiring and i dont wanna mess up my car's wiring. kinda frustrated to receive a product different from your video. thank you

Did you buy it from DMP? If so, then you need to ask them cause I'm not familiar with that version.

You need to press the back button on left side and buttons on the right side to change colors and brightnes. Without pressing back button they will work as normal. I think.

no...the main harness plugs into an OBD2...but it has a copy of the original port on the other end of the harness so you can still connect anything to it.

Flex I’ve got the 2017 C250 w205 and it has the ambient lighting from factory ( 3 colours ) there in the same place you’ve installed yours, but there not very bright at all, would I have to replace mine with the same kit you’ve installed to make mine bright like yours ? Or can I just replace the transformer drive ??

Don’t know. It’s came as part of the entire kit. You need to contact DMP to see if they sell it separately.

this was totally great, I have lights in my car but they're not installed and people are able to step on them. They're nothing like those lights in your car, but they do change colors. Now I was wondering would you install a kit on my car? I have a C300 2016. And I will be just happy if you were able to install my lights. How much do you charge?
