The width should work out for any adult because the pattern stretches quite well. the slipper in the picture is a size 7 1/2 to about 10 (stretches like socks) but you can vary the length simply by adding rows.

If you can try on the slippers, make the first part as long as shown at about minute 12:25 in this video. If you want to make them as a surprise, make the first part of the slipper about three quarters of the total length. For a size 12, the total length should be about 11 inches. So the first part should be about 8,25 inches (stop doing rounds when the length of the first part comes close to 8,25 Inches) then continue with the second part: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKikXp6LeK57fNk

you make a tube like shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaqUZYGYo8h1o7s so you work around the circle and always start with a set of 2. then you work all the way around the circle and you end the row with a set of four. doing this rounds you should always have the same amount (12) of puffs on the outside of the circle you are working on. I will make an easier version of this video soon (easier and with more explanation).
