I have some 20 versions of this - CD and LP. This is THE ONE. Conductor, Orchestra, and Soloist ... they just get it right. PS LP version on RCA label is to be preferred if you have a good turntable.

To me, this is better than Heifetz--at least for this piece. I have both recordings (on CD), and this one communicates Soul.

that RCA vinyl LP has a fantastic sleeve - great recording - out on CD, but the pkg'ing can never match the LP . . .

When I started watching, I thought about this "not a suitable dress for the Sibelius violin concerto. She seems that the work does not feel its soul". But I found the performance of the soloist successful however she's definitely not an Oistrakh.
